L’Oréal Paris Age Perfect Anti-Feathering Lip Liner, Perfect Burgundy

L'Oreal should be ashamed to sell something like this to the public! In spite of the response from the manufacturer that the barrel can be rotated and advanced to expose more product, or that it can be sharpened, it can not. The firm plastic casing is unable to be sharpened. Period! I tried fruitlessly to rotate the fixed and rigid casing and it does not rotate. I then forced the colored end off the plastic casing to see the supposed threading that would allow the 'barrel' to rotate and advance the lipliner. There is no threading to allow for that to happen. And when I looked down the now open end of the 'barrel', there is no more product even inside to push through the tip. So ladies, we are paying only for the tiny visible tip you see in the photo. I used mine for approximately 6 applications and it was then below the rigid plastic tip and could no longer be used. Don't get me wrong, I like L'Oreal products and have used them for years. The lipsticks, eyeliners, mascara, blusher, haircolor are all great. BUT this is a rip-off. The small amount of product that was provided, I did like. I will never buy this item again, because I could not trust that this was just a defective one time occurrence. Especially after reading others reviews stating frustration with being unable to advance the tip or sharpen the tip. Hope amazon will remove this from their product line for L'Oreal. I gave this a one star rating considering it was a no delivery of product. Hey L'Oreal where is your product control person on this one?

Fool Me Once: I bought my first lip liner a couple of months ago and while I liked the liner I thought I'd bought a dud because I can't twist that colored bottom part (where the rest of the free world puts the twisty part that extends more product). I tried a couple of pairs of pliers to no avail.Fool Me Twice: I blindly bought another one without reading the reviews. That's where the shame is on me. Gullible me thought, "Surely the next one will work." Yet, alas--this one also did not twist at the twisty part where the rest of the free world puts the twisty part that extends more product.When I read the reviews and the instructions from L'oreal that I SHARPEN PLASTIC I realized I had been a fool. I am not going to tear up my makeup pencil sharpener with their PLASTIC product. Not gonna do it.SO, listen to me my sisters--DO NOT BE A FOOL. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT.

I am so completely bummed out about this lip liner. It’s not the quality of the lip liner, because it really is a TRUE anti-feathering lip liner that goes on beautifully and freakin’ lasts ALL DAY. The color selection is also pretty stunning. The problem is that someone totally dropped the ball on the delivery system for the lip liner. Meaning there isn’t one!!! It’s in a hard plastic case that doesn’t twist up and definitely isn’t sharpenable. There is literally no way to get at the rest of the product once the little bit of exposed product you see when you open it is gone.Everything I’ve tried so far from the Age Perfect line has been surprisingly exceptional. I’ve never tried a complete line of anyone’s product….never even been tempted to, until now. The foundation, concealer, blush, mascara, lipsticks (the luminous hydrating & satin finish) were all 5 star products. And this lip liner would be too if I could actually, ya know, use all of it. I’m going to attempt to return both of the colors I’ve ordered. If they fix the problem I’ll definitely give it another try.

Horrible! There is no way to extract the liner to get more out of the plastic tube container. No twist mechanism to move the liner upwards and out. Thought I was doing something wrong, but even all the ladies in the office couldnt get it to work. Waste of money

There is no way to twist this up! I only was able to use it 4 times. Don’t buy this.

The color is perfect for me! BUT there is no built in twist sharpener and the pencil will not sharpen in a lip sharpener. Thankful that Amazon is refunding this purchase

it didn't make sense having a week's worth of color in the pencil so i removed the back (not easy) and stuck the flat end of a skewer in and was able to push out some more color. It's disappointing to have to go through it but it's better than reading all the "sharpening" solutions that are crazy!

It needs to be sharpened after every other use. If the tip is too exposed, it breaks off, but if it's at a good working length, it wears down and the plastic comes in contact with my lips. A twist-up tip would be better. I'll use this until it's gone but I won't buy any more. Too bad, the liner is excellent, it's just this plastic pencil idea that, in my opinion, is a mistake. If they go back to it being a twist-up I'll buy it again.
