Summer Infant Wide View Digital Color Video Baby Monitor

I had researched which digital video monitor was the best & I decided on this monitor. We didn't want wifi & feel very secure using this monitor. We switched bedrooms and are now on the opposite side of the house, but both my husband & I wanted to know our daughter was safe & loved being able to see her. We love the 2 way talk feature. We can tell her we are on our way, or to lay back down, etc. The picture quality is great, night vision is good, sound is very clear & I like that you can zoom in if needed! I wish you could dim it a bit more at night though. On the lowest setting it is still pretty bright & I am such a light sleeper. We always keep it plugged in at night otherwise it will die. But if I need it throughout the day, it is perfect to carry it where you need it. Love the kickstand feature too.The only downfall I have is- if you have two cameras, you can only hear one room. There is a pan feature that will show you both rooms, but the sound will only switch every 8 seconds. We didn't feel comfortable with that, so instead of purchasing a compatible camera- we are going to purchase another monitor (this same one) for our sons room when he is in his own room. 8 seconds may not be a long time to others, but we are on the opposite side of the house & I don't believe in letting children cry. So my husband will have one monitor on his nightstand & I will have the other. Great camera/monitor! We also got it on sale so that helped justify the price too! But at the same time- the safety of our children over rules this cost!

I was one of those fortunate parents that have had two children who slept through the night since day one, other than me having to wake them up to feed them. My youngest child decided on her 2 year birthday that sleeping on her own was no longer an option. Out of sheer desperation to get some sleep, I made the poor decision to let her sleep in the bed with me (not for or against this). The poor decision was she had to be touching me at all times, suffered from night terrors, and kicked me all night, resulting in continued lack of sleep for me. I allowed this to go on for a year and a half. It took someone outside of my family to finally wake me up that this wasn't healthy for either one of us and I needed to start working on her sleeping on her own again. This was quite a struggle for both of us. I had to put child door knob locks on because she would simply walk out of her room and come upstairs, over and over and over. When that took place, the screaming commenced to the point she was starting to vomit regularly. Knowing I couldn't give in, I knew I had to do something. I purchased this monitor as way to check in on her and reassure her through the speaker that I was there and watching over her, and also become aware if she started crying uncontrollably so I could reassure her before she started to vomit. Now, months later, I don't have to do much of anything anymore. She no longer needs the door knob lock, and she willingly goes to her bed and does not require me to lay with her until she falls asleep. We are both happier and healthier. I believe this monitor is why that happened. Her being able to hear my voice when she started to panic, would calm her down immediately. While I used this for a more unconventional purpose, I highly recommend this for parents of newborns as well. It has worked fabulously in the months I have owned it.

I love this monitor! We just strated putting my 3 month old in her bassinet at bed time to let her put herself to sleep and this is a lifesaver! I love that we can watch her without having to be in the room where she can see us. I looked at a TON of other monitors and finally just chose this one because of its reviews. The screen is basically the size of my Samsung galaxy s5 screen and the picture quality is amazing for a baby monitor! Mind you this is not a smart phone screen, it's not going to be crystal clear but it does have great quality in day and night vision! I can see my baby breathing and can easily tell if her eyes are closed or not. It has a zoom button which only zooms in once and that's all we need for where we have the camera positioned. The camera rotates 180 degrees on its base and up and down. Battery life on the monitor is pretty great, the video shuts off but the sound stays on after a few minutes to save power, you just push the video button to turn it back on. I try to keep it plugged in if I'm near an outlet but if not the battery always holds strong for me! Signal is great, I can go to my mailbox which is about 200 yards away and the video might be choppy but the sound always works and I'm never gonna be that far from baby for very long! I take it to the hot tub with me which is in our back yard while she Naps in the living room which is at the front of the house and it always works perfectly! If you're like me and have already read 43,499 reviews about 5,834 different baby monitors, stop looking and just buy this one! You seriously can't beat the quality that you get for the price that it is!

This monitor works great for us. The picture is clear, even in night vision, and I absolutely LOVE the intercom system. The voice comes out clear and loud on the other end, and it works wonderfully to soothe my baby when she is fussing. I gave it four-stars because the battery drains pretty easily - it won't last a whole day, even though I charge it fully all night and turn it off when the baby is awake. (However, my little one still takes 3-4 long naps pre day, which means the monitor is on for about 6 hours per day. If your baby only takes 1-2 naps per day, it would probably work.) There is also no beep or alarm to tell you the battery is dying - a red light shines, but you have to be looking at the monitor to notice. Another down side is that the reception is not as good as our basic Summer audio monitor (which we bought for about $15 on clearance at Target). That monitor would work anywhere in our house and also out in our yard. This one seems to have dead zones in our house (which you can then move it a few inches and find reception again) and doesn't reach past our front door. In my in-law's house, it had even more reception issues, maybe because their walls are concrete. Overall, the features on the monitor are good, but make sure it stays charged and that it will work in your house!

La resolución es buena, la pantalla es grande y se puede ver perfecto, la luz nocturna es buena, efectivamente tiene buena vista amplia es decir se ve bastante de la habitación eso es bueno cuando ya no es un bebé y va de lado a lado, le quito una estrella porque el alcance de la señal es malo, mi casa no es grande mide 7x20 y si pongo la cámara arriba en el cuarto (con la puerta cerrada) y bajo la pantalla a la cocina que debe estar a 14 metros de distancia aprox. Se va la señal asi que debo poner la cámara más cerca de la puerta del cuarto para que llegue bien, si tienen una casa grande no es buena opción si lo quieren para distancias cortas está perfecta.

I purchased the Summer infant wide view device with the extra camera to replace the Summer infant monitor device I already have but was unable to par another camera to it because it has been discontinued. This camera is very basic and does not provide a very sharp image of your children. If you are not picky and just need a camera to monitor your children than this is a perfect device. If you want more bells and whistles than spend the extra money and purchase a higher quality monitor and cameras.

Love the second camera. Love how my monitor scan between the two cameras and it was super easy to add the second camera. I plan on getting another one or two when our babies have a playroom!
