Foundations of Clinical Research: Applications to Practice Third Edition

I was finishing a research project for my doctorate. This was so easy to understand and the examples were relatable. I would make sure you have this book if you plan to do any research. I rented it and may actually buy it for future use.

Excellent book I have ever read

HOLD YOUR HORSES!This is a classical and very authoritative book in the field. This book in particular (the one showing on the top of this page) is basically a copy, or reprint of the 3rd edition which was originally published by Prentice Hall. Because PH has stopped printing the book, in order to keep it "alive" (but also to continue the selling/money-making business), F.A. Davis has recently taken over the publishing role. While this initiative is laudable since the book, despite being relatively old (almost 10 years old for the 3rd edition), is still widely cited and recommended as a reference text in statistics and research methods, specially for the medical or health-related disciplines, it seems that FAD hasn't done much to keep the book at the same "standards" that has been set by the previous publisher, PH. The book has been printed in very low standards. It looks like someone took the original book from PH and made a copy of it in a very amateur style. The quality of the paper and the ink are by no means good, and in some pages the size of the letters is distorted and the content cannot be properly read. I’ve already seen other books from FAD and I know that this is not their standard. I wonder what might have happened to this title in particular. I don't know if the problem is just with the copy I've got, probably not since the books are printed in large scale (I believe). Hopefully they wont mess up with the 4th edition (I believe in a couple of years it will be published by FAD). So, if like me you don't want to wait for the 4th edition to be published and want to get your hands on a copy of the 3rd edition, perhaps you should look for an used copy that had been published by PH. I do regret my purchase. :@
