More Than Pleasure You: 1001 Dark Nights (A More Than Words Novella)

Fake Engagement Story
FINAL DECISION: This was an enjoyable read especially right now when I wanted something easy to read. Concise and fast-paced, I breezed through this one.THE STORY: Stephen Lund arrives in Maui seeking distance from his father. At his rental, he meets Skye Ingram who is the caretaker. Skye is having a crisis. Her ex is getting married and she needs a pretend fiance to attend the wedding with her. Overhearing, Stephen offers to fill the role.OPINION: I liked how these two worked together, and I'm always a sucker for the fake engagement trope. I really did love the relationship between Stephen and Skye which is funny and sexy. The story has some obvious turns and reveals, but that made this a comforting read. The complexity is in the relationship between the characters in the story -- not only Stephen and Skye but also the supporting characters. Characters have deep and sometimes contradictory motives. What could have been formulaic villains end up being complicated -- even if not always likable.WORTH MENTIONING: This is a novella told in alternating first person.CONNECTED BOOKS: MORE THAN PLEASURE YOU is book 5.5 in the More Than Words series. While it is not necessary to read the other books in the series since this book gives you the essential conflict, it does help to be familiar with the characters in the series.STAR RATING: I give this book 4 stars.

The chemistry is so strong you can feel it ooze off the pages
There aren't many authors that can guarantee a great read but for me Shayla Black is one that can, she has a way of pulling readers into her stories no matter if they are hundreds of pages long or a novella and it's truly a gift of hers. More Than Pleasure you is a novella in the More Than Words Series it is also part of the 1,001 Dark Nights Series which means it can be read as a complete standalone because it was meant to give readers a glimpse into the series. For readers of the series this is a bonus book because Stephen Lund is a secondary character that probably wouldn't have a book otherwise.Stephen Lund found out about his half-sister Nia not to long ago and now they are trying to establish a relationship, what better place to do it than in Maui which is where she lives, it doesn't hurt that business has taken him there either...LOL What Stephen didn't expect was Skye.Skye is the caretaker of the home where Stephen is spending the month, she is in need of a date to her ex-boyfriends wedding which Stephen hears her complaining about on the phone and steps up to the plate and agrees to be her "fake fiancé" for the wedding. The chemistry is so strong between Skye and Stephen that you can feel it ooze off the pages. They were HOT together and it was just a matter of time before their fake relationship turned real. This along with EVERY BOOK I have ever read by Shayla Black is highly recommend but to readers 17 and over due to content. I hope you enjoy Skye and Stephen's story as much as I did.Happy Reading!!!

A GREAT BOOK
I really enjoyed this book and I recommend it. It's the story of a Hawaiian island woman and a high finance man that meet on her island. Stephen is there to check out the land that Skye's place of business is. He is looking at it for a possible place for a new skyscraper to be built.Skye has worked for an elderly couple maintaining their property a small motel for a long time. She loves it there and has maintained the property as well as cooked there as the chef. She loves being there and has never been off her island so the place is home to her.Stephen is based in New York city but travels looking for real estate for his highly well to do clients. He has found the property as a possible place to develop but he has also suggested other properties as well. He knows that the property is not for sell but every property has a price. When Stephen meets Skye he is attracted to her but he doesn't realize at first how naive she is but when he finds out he feels differently about her. Hr feels protective of her.Skye was suppose to marry her friend but he found someone new which was fine with Skye. But his mother wanted Skye and no one else so she sticks her nose where it doesn't belong.

Finding paradise in paradise....
Stephen is recovering from a concussion when his whole world is knocked off axis when he meets Skye.He takes advantage of the fact that her ex wants her to bring a fake fiance to his wedding. And Stephen genuinely wants to be her fake fiance so he can learn more about this stunning woman. Both of them feel the chemistry between them and decide to explore it thoroughly. There are a few issues to resolve from Stephen's end but he is determined Skye will be part of his future. An insta-love story. But not all smooth sailing. There's the meddling mother to deal with. Some familial issues to sort out. But also lots of steam. And little surprise.I love the glimpse of characters from Shayla's bookiverse. Reminds me there are parts I still need to explore. In summary, a great little standalone that you can enjoy without having read any of the other More Than Words books. Steamy, a little drama, and a very sweet HEA.I received a review copy. I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

I LOVE this series and I loved seeing the characters from previous books. I love Skye and her free spirit thinking, and Stephen..... sigh I love that he was instantly drawn to her. Torn between doing what is right and what is expected of him, Stephen takes a well needed "escape" to figure out his life and future. Skye is faced with trying to do what she feels is right and what others want. Together they pull off a farce of a lifetime until it isn't a farce anymore. I adore these characters and Shayla Blacks love for music, Definitely makes the reading experience THAT MUCH MORE.
