Evermore Academy: Winter eBook : Grey, Audrey: desertcart.co.uk: Kindle Store Review: Kickass awesomeness - It’s kick ass awesomeness. It’s kick ass awesomeness, ok so I didn’t have high hopes for this, I admit that, normally I don’t like the academy trope, but I have to say, I really, really enjoyed this one. Summer, a human, who lives in the tainted zone, with kids she’s taken in, there is barely any food, yet they get by. The shimmer the centre of the magical disaster sits not far from Summers home, on the other side the Fae, who caused the disaster in the first place. When Summer is running because she has stolen food for her family, she hides in the shimmer, in the winter lands. There she’s tempted by fruit that grows all year around, those could keep her family going. But she’s caught, by a fae and branded as the Fae princes property, told she must attend the Evermore academy, for four years, then she can pay off her debit. I loved every second of this book, except when our smart summer does something stupid… she knew it was stupid but still did it anyway, that annoyed me. saying that I understand why she did it, but was still annoyed me to the point I had to put the book down for a day. I loved the winter prince I do wish some of it was from his point of view though. We see it all through summers eyes. I was shocked when I thought I was getting spice…. I fumbled to turn the Audio book off when it got a bit hot. thinking oh no my 16-year-old son can here this…. Needless to say, it wasn’t spice… but still so glad I wasn’t in public listening to that. I often swich between reading and listening it helps with the name’s and how to pronounce them. The characters are all well rounded I love them all. This is definitely one of my top books for the year. Review: One for Cardan fans!!! - Evermore Academy - 4.7 starlights 🌟🌟🌟🌟✨ An easy read, full of beautiful deadly Fae and fragile yet resilient humans and a mesmerising dystopian world - A perfect fusion of urban and rural fantasy romance with my favourite trope - Enemies to lovers, slow burning romance, written so well! The book starts off so good! Definitely had a court of thorns and roses/ Cruel Prince vibes mixed with Vampire Academy but the story felt a bit predictable and empty at times in the middle. However, despite some plot holes, I really enjoyed the overall narrative and premise. The writing style is great and the world building is fascinating. I was gripped for most part - the characters were fun and interesting (including the side characters) and Audrey Grey does a great job creating this unique take on the Fae and also keeping the mystery heightened. I especially adored the main protagonist, Summer - She is stubborn, feisty, tough, super brave; gentle and empathic. And the Prince is definitely Irresistible. The slow burning love story was enthralling and explosive by the end! The last few chapters were so good! So intense and gripping! I couldn’t stop reading. Definitely looking forward to reading the next book.

so good!
Honestly I started this book because of the blurb but wasn’t to positive, however, it turns out this is a great book with plenty characters that you would expect but do not get boring. The story line is entertaining and well, magic! Starting the second book right away!!

Great story, has you on the edge of your seat
This book is a little more PG than my usual reads which at one particular point was a bit sad (when you read it, you’ll know which point ;) ) that being said, I loved the story, the characters and the constant twists and turns. I’m really hoping they will end up together and I can’t wait to see what they get up to next. I’m ready to dive straight in to the next one. Definitely recommend reading this book.

Amazing!
Beautifully written. I really enjoyed this book! I'm a very fussy reader, often easily put off with common errors, flat plot lines, and unrelatable characters. However, this book has breathed some life back into my love of reading again... thank goodness! Great job to the author. Fantastic world building and badass characters. I'm very intrigued as to what happens next! I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who needs that 'next level read'. Enjoy!

Fun Light Read
On the whole, despite the plot’s predictability, I enjoyed this tale of fae and humans trying to co-exist in a post-apocalyptic type world. I was hooked for the most part because of the world-building and the characters that unfolded. I very much liked the author’s writing style which was uncomplicated but not simplistic. However, I did have a few issues. Firstly, there were a few scenes which I felt were too “inspired” by Harry Potter. Secondly, I couldn’t comprehend how a 3,500 year old fae prince was required to attend an academy at all. Presumably he would have assimilated a great deal of knowledge from previous lives. Subsequently, I doubted his intelligence during Chimera gate, in his continued association with Inara and finally, despite vowing to always protect, his abandonment was a total contradiction. I assume there will be four books for each season and a long wait in between (book 2 release is June 2020), which will probably deter me reading the sequel. I would have to re-read the first again as a reminder. I would, therefore, probably recommend this for a younger reader, who will have sharper memories and don’t mind a surprise free adventure.

A Fae School Where Humans Are Taught How To Protect Them!😲✨🌠🔪
(Read using Kindle Unlimited) Winter (Evermore Academy #1) This was a really enjoyable read. I liked the world build & characters as well as the storyline!👍 Summer is funny & feisty, strong willed & caring!💕 The Prince comes across as cold but it's clear he's hiding something big!🌁👑 Mack & Eclipsa are fantastic characters, loyal and fierce!🙏😍 The bad guys/girls are suitably vile, the types you'd wish nothing but harm to.😉😡 I'm looking forward to reading book #2!!🌟 Debbie, 1970, UK

I really liked this book. It has all the ingredients that I love in a fae romance book, fated mates, enemies to lovers, magic, action, misunderstandings, hot male Heroes with a bit of darnkness and brave h that fight for what they want. There're also great secondary characters like Mack or dragon boy and even Eclipsa. It's a bit like a Howarts for grown up humans in a Fae world. I'm giving it 4 starts instead of five because the main heroine is a bit unbearable for me. She has a big mouth and sometime she should think twice before speaking. Also the ending is a bit hurried, lot of things happening in a very short amount of time. I'll be glad to read book 2 though.

Usually I’m not a fan of mixing different mythical creatures with Gaelic folklore. Ie vampiric far or werewolves. I loved this though. It felt seamless how all aspects were woven together and the whole fae to earth thing didn’t feel as forced. Can’t wait to read more.

I am not going to lie, I bought this book because of the cover. It is so stunning! The story also grapped my attention. I'm a sucker for fae, academies and dividing by seasons. The first few pages I had to get into the story. Summer Soltice uses foul language and does not think about her actions or the consequences thereof. However the story grapped me and didn't let go. I loved reading about Summer her friends and the Winter Prince! The story had a lot of clichés, but just the clichés I loved. I can't wait for the second book Spring!

Reading ya fiction has always been how I love to spend my time. I have many favorite series that have been pretty hard to top, but this one somehow manages to top ALL of them. I didn’t think I’d ever find anything better than the TOG series, but this is. It has my favorite villain love interest trope that’s twisted in mystery, facades, and typical fae treachery, but also a glorious love story strong enough to overcome any obstacles. The protagonist has the best personality I’ve experienced yet. She’s spunky, kind, brave, and most of all—resilient which is necessary for this cruel world. Her character touches the hearts of even the cruelest characters and continuously surprises everyone. She’s a truly inspiring heroine. The prince is the perfect amount of bad who also has the heart of a lion. He’s a combination of the perfect soulmate, protector, tormentor, and sexy villain. The constant banter between them is thrilling, and kept me wanting more, but in the best way. Truly the best love interest I’ve read. Normally, I can’t stand books with mean girls, but this was tasteful and added to the story in all the right ways, mostly because of how the protagonist reacted to them. The action and trials she goes through is also incredible. The characters and world building is the best I’ve ever read. I read the entire series in three days and am rereading it immediately after.
