The Essene Book of Days 2014

At first I was enthused but after a few days I started to use the book as a diary. The little poems are a bit repetitious and not stimulating enough to keep me interested.It would be more advantageous to read the books by Edmond Bordeaux Szekely on the Essene way of life and the Essene Jesus.I do like the picture on the cover and some of the ink drawings. Maybe because I am an artist myself I can relate to the work and detail involved therein.

This book has been part of my life for over 10 years. It gently directs me toward peace and calm. There is a sense of power in this book, and in what it represents. Each year, the book verses are the same - and I welcome them like dear friends, as I move through the year. I am grateful that it has remained in print. It is comforting to know there are others who share this philosophy. There once was a short version with the verses - which seems to be out of print. I have given several of those away, and wish it was available. It packs well!

I hadn't seen a copy of The Essene Book of days for several years and was overjoyed that it was available on Amazon. It is a daily source of inspiration and reflection with ample room for journal notes and doodling. When time permits and whimsy moves me to color the illustrations I feel happily grounded in creative play. This poetic journal is filled with wisdom from the ancient practice of The Essenes, the same traditions Mary, Joseph and Jesus honored. The book is a very good influence on me and I doubt that anyone would regret using it or giving it for daily nature-inspired reflections.

I have used the Book of Days for many years now and shared one with a friend last year who found it to be just the combination of what she believed as well. Using basic faith in God as a basis, numerous helps are provided which orient one within the natural world as well. For a Christian biologist, this is something that builds up your faith by weaving these fields together, ignoring useless conflicts within the disciplines. I've seen nothing which compares, although I do use it along with other readings.

I have used this book as a daily spiritual practice in the past but its been a few years since. Coming around to practice again feels like coming home to my divinity and my Spirit. This is the truest "religion" for me, leading me back home to myself…and out in to life…and back home to myself on the earth plane. What a blessing.Thank you Daanan wherever you are now. I love the mixture of practices bringing in the earth elements, cycles of life and personal evolution/growth. Its all very simple but penetrates deeply.

I have used The yearly Essene Book of Days as a meditation guide and spiritual journal, for a long time. It is based on seasonal changes to reflect inner changes. Plus there is a morning and evening section. Doesn't take a lot of time, but really helps put you day in a better light!

I have been using this journal since 1982 to record our daily log, and I still like to read the earth centered meditations and prayers. It is a useful book...and calls me to read and write in it...

If you want to be centered every day, this is the book for you. Routine meditations with a place to write daily feelings. Research the Essenes. They have a great spiritual history.

I have not yet started the year as I have the 2014 book of days beginning tomorrow. I look forward to following the journey set out in the daily reflections. None more so than the act of reconnecting to the season through a daily awareness of sun and moon, stars and seasonal markers. The essene seem enthralling.
