Yes and yes. Fit is just like your favorite jeans. I own 6 pairs

The legs are tapered slightly. They fit very well.

Q: Breathable fabric? Good in hot weather?

I feel it is relatively light and breathable. They are an athletic/tactical feeling ripstop material. They feel lighter than the cargo version of the UA tactical pants, and the cargo version are good in high heat. I didn’t get a chance to wear these in real high temps, but they were very comfortable in high 70s f.

Q: Is the crotch gusseted?

Yes, after an internet search, Google says they are gusseted. I have 3 pairs of these pants, and love them
