This is a quick review of the prime weld cut 50D I received Aug 4th 2020. The unit received has been updated by prime weld which is not mentioned or shown on Amazon or other YouTube videos I’ve seen. Anyway here are the new updates: See my video below! The new updates: It came with a newer style torch AG60 with trigger guard; 220v 50 amp power cord is pre-installed and Included a 220v to 120v adapter for 110 outlet! The air filter/regulator was pre-installed! Came with extra air line as shown in other pictures but it is not needed any longer with the new updated machine....not sure why they included it? Having read reviews stating that Primeweld provides good service, I decided to spend a little more for some piece of mind, and to support a seller that takes care of customers after sale. Having never run a plasma cutter, I had some questions and sent emails to Primeweld, whcich were answered within an hour. He answered my questions, and sent me tool in the mail (his cost for tool and shipping) that he hoped make my experience better while welding with 110 voltage. It does now run pretty well with 110, but physics is a stubborn thing, and only so much current can go through a 20amp 110-120 circuit. So if you need to cut steel thicker than 1/8” regularly you’ll have better cuts with 220. And that’s with any machine. It just takes a lot of current to blow through thick steel. I got this because I was given a 60” square of 1/8” steel, and it’s reallt nastbto cut with a torch. The Primeweld 50 cut it cleanly, even on 120v, though it was a little slow. Think realistically how often you’ll need to cut steel thicker than that. If you do, plan on wiring in a 220v 30amp outlet. Otherwise, you’ll be ok with 120v. Photo is of 1/2” cold roll it cut through in about 5 seconds. That would have taken a long time with my torch, and burned a lot of acetylen. I suspect that many of these machine have similar guts, and what differentiates them is the quality of the accessories and the support. I was impressed with the accessories. There’s plenty of hose and fasteners, so you don’t need to scrounge around getting it set up. And if you have a question, I’m sure the folks at Primeweld will do whatever they can to get you straight. Doug Aylett, VA

I really read a lot of the reviews on the prime weld plasma cutter. I was skeptical because I’m usually someone to buy high end tools because I like to only buy a tool once. However due to the numerous five star reviews I gave it a try. It arrived in 3 days which was half the time quoted!!! What I can say is that prime world has seriously upped their game and addressed most of the different customer issues in the reviews. They redesigned the back end so it’s pre-plumbed and you don’t need to attach any hoses. (Note...the air quick disconnect that came with it leaked so I replaced it). Also it now comes with the same exact plug that comes on Hobart Welders. (6-50P). In about 10 minutes, I was up and running cutting 1/4” plate. If you are new to plasma cutting, I highly recommend using a straight edge guide. It gives a much better cut. If you are wavering on this purchase like I did. Buy it. I was thinking about spending $800 for what would have probably been the exact same thing. Note...their manual is still terrible. PrimeWeld....I am an engineer. I will write a manual for you if you want. :)

Hard to believe this works like machines that cost a lot more. I am not a welder, and I've never used one before buying this. My brother has used a plasma cutter where he works. He said he can't tell the difference between this and the one he uses at work. It comes with a 4.5 foot cord that has a L6 twist lock 220 plug. I would have given it 5 stars but nearly every internal and external air fitting leaked. Three bad leaks on the inside. The cover easily comes off after removing the screws. I had to fix 3 leaks inside. If it wouldn't have leaked air so bad, I would have given it 5 stars. That being said, its operation is definitely 5 stars. It cut right though 3/8 mild steel. The rest of the unit seems to be well made.

Love it! They simplified the plumbing on the back, eliminated an exterior hose and added a nice brass quick connect. Comes set up and ready to go, better than what you see in pictures here. Power cord is quite short, I made an extension that converts to the NEMA 14-50 plug I needed. Surprised at the nice quality of the ground clamp even though the cable is pretty thin. Instruction manual is useless, but it cuts fast and smooth, with great power and quality of cut. Can’t imagine better for the money. Torch is pretty solid and the trigger has a decent feel - not the super cheap zip-tied torch on some other units. Overall feel of the quality is good for an imported unit - not a $1500 made in USA rig but the paint finish is nice, the control knob is smooth, it’s fairly quiet and it flat out WORKS.

Everything worked perfectly for two years with occasional home-owner use. Then a few days ago a hole blew through the side of the torch, probably because I did not keep a clean tip on the torch. The replacement torch is not working as well as the original. I'm quite sure the machine is still as it should be and I've got the wrong torch. Now I'm going to try using the right epoxy to fix the hole. Hopefully I can come back here to report on the success of that... Question: what torch should I buy as a good replacement?

I am beyond happy with this product as well as the outstanding customer service I recieved. You can never know about that side till you have an issue. I went with this seller over the others because of the great reviews they had. Now I know why. They are awsome. I had an issue, not their fault or a problem with the quality of the product, in fact it was with the shipping company. These guy's have integrity and you can buy with confidence from them. I can't say enough good about them. Now on to this beautiful plasma torch. Light weight, portable, and cuts beautifull. I am inpressed. This opens up a new world for creating and fixing things. If you are thinking about getting it and hesitating, just get it. Make sure you buy from these guys as well. You won't regret it. Amazing: price, product, and customer service. Purchased the unit through Amazon sold by PrimeWeld in 2020 after reading lots of positive reviews. Price point was a deciding factor. It worked like a champ cutting everything up to 1/2” without missing a beat even used rusted material. In Feb 2023 it just stopped working so contacted PrimeWeld through email and Gene told me he would send a shipping label. Gene made sure I got a label to send the unit back under warranty. I believe it only took 2 weeks and had the unit back fixed with new gun, leads and extra consumables! Amazing they took care of shipping, repair and new items. They certainly earned my business and will be looking at other products. THANK YOU Primeweld! Highly recommended from my experience. Andy Benton
