We have welcomed them into our homes...we used them for media streaming, web serving and video games...now they will hide in plain sight, ready to make their next move... More media streaming, web serving and video games! The INVASION by C4 Labs is our latest designer case that protects the Raspberry Pi 3B+, 2 and B+ but also allows for excellent cooling for the times where your Pi is pushed to its limits. The top platform easily lifts off to reveal the microSD card. Stunning lines, sleek matte-black surface, clearance for aftermarket heatsinks, and a spot for a standard 40 mm fan make this a stand-out case to display proudly on a table.Heatsinks are now standard on the Invasion and now also offers a fan option: 40mm 5-volt fan with low power usage yet high rate of airflow . This listing is for the Invasion case that includes the fan with the mounting hardware.

I've had and reviewed a lot of PC cases over the years, and this might be the coolest one
I'm thoroughly impressed with the INVASION case. It's sleek, stylish, and a such a great looking case that I put it on my desk instead of back into my network core. I would even feel comfortable with it on a bookshelf.Assembling the case was very easy for me. I found the screws to be maybe a millimeter too large, which made for a little nervousness pushing the Pi down into them. I really had to work it down carefully. Everything was easy to put on. The heatsinks were a little confusing. The small one was a no-brainer, but the larger two had me confused. The instructions seemed to indicate that they were the same size, which was not the case for me. I put the larger of the two on the CPU and the smaller on the back. I think that's what was originally intended.I'd buy another of these in a heartbeat if I had another use for a showable Pi.

Case is great! Fan needed some modification.
This is a really cool case, both literally and figuratively. The style is great and the design allows enough airflow for passive cooling at moderate work loads. With the included fan and heat sinks the active cooling of the Pi board is great and even at full load I've not seen temps go above 70C.Fitment is OK, However the long base screws and black plastic washers were a bit too tight and didn't slide properly through the Pi board so I had to manually thread them with a screwdriver.I had to clean all the peices with a moist cloth as there was a lot of dust on them, but they cleaned up easily. I also had to remove the leftover brown paper remnants over the cut out peices of plastic where the logo was and where all of the ports where. This was done easily enough with a combination of my fingers and an Exacto-Blade.The included aluminum heatsinks are nice and fit well. Use a bit of rubbing alcohol on a Q-tip to wipe off the chips on the Pi board, then carefully remove the adhesive backing on the aluminum heatsinks and securley attach them. The 40mm 5V 0.14A fan was a bit difficult to figure out the best orientation, but after some trial-and-error fitment you can figure it out (see my attached picks). My one gripe is that the plastic connector for the fan did not fit and I needed to remove it. If you place the fan connector on pins 4 and 6 you will bend them. I had to carefully remove the white plastic connector with a sewing pin and place the black/red striped cable on pin 6 and the solid red cable on pin 4. Also, mount the fan so that the logo sticker on it faces towards the CPU, you wan't the fan to blow towards the CPU.Overall, the case is great. It's not a heavy duty case meant for abuse, but it's great in a stationary location for visual appeal and functions very well. All in all I would not hesitate to recommend this case to anyone looking for a great stylish case that offers great cooling options for their Raspberry Pi 3 board!

Great case - Next time include fan wiring instructions in the box
It is a quality made case that comes with a small quiet fan and three heat sinks. My only complaint is that the assembly instructions do not include how to plug in the fan. However, their customer service rapidly replied with an image and instructions that I will attach to this review.

Looks great with high-end audio equipment for a low-end price!
This Raspberry Pi case caught my eye, so I got one for my 2nd RPI2. The main feature of this case, for me, is that this design looks far more appropriate with my audio equipment than the clear rectangular box that came with my Pi - this looks much more like a piece of audio gear and less like a DIY project. I have seen some high-end looking Pi and Beaglebone cases at 4x the price, but this one, in the spirit of the RPI2, is inexpensive, and well thought out. This case has space for a fan, but I have not used it.Assembly was not exactly intuitive. The parts made sense, and I could see where they went, but fitting them together require just a bit of effort. The reason for this was because the parts are made to surprisingly tight tolerances. Once together, everything fits perfectly! This case has a lightweight but solid feel. It's plastic, but doesn't feel cheap.I have also purchased "The Rebel" case from the same company, which is similar to this case, but made of clear plastic and has fewer parts. Two things that I particularly like about this purchase: 1. Made in USA, and 2. The company founder included a handwritten thank you card in the box. It may seem like a small thing, but it makes me feel good about the product knowing that the people behind it went the extra step.

Attractive, unique case - does not accomodate HAT's
I bought this to house a Raspberry Pi 3 with a DigiOne HAT, running Ropieee. I use the combo as an end point with Roon software. Be forewarned that the addition of a HAT can interefere with the case design. I could not find any feedback or information anywhere about whether or not the case had enough room to allow for additional HAT's, so I took the chance and ordered it.Because the added HAT made the bottom extend a bit lower, I was unable to use the included side panels. Also, I had to trim the bottom case to allow clearance for the coax cable connections. If you purchase this case with the intention of modifying it, be very careful of what you use to cut the plastic - I would suggest a dremel with a cutting disk. I used a large wire cutter and shattered off part of the bottom case.In the end, I am satisfied with the results for now. It hides the cables and makes for a fairly clean install. There is no other case like it on the market, so it is a unique product. If you are using the Pi with no HAT's then everything will fit perfectly fine.

Good looks, good airflow, and a quiet fan make this an excellent case.
This case has clean lines and just enough weight to keep the Raspberry pi from just floating around on the end of the cables you plug into it. (or is that just me? It seems like the HDMI cable always puts the pi where it wants it, instead of the other way around.)The fan is quiet and keeps the board nice and cool even under load. This is the first raspberry pi case I haven't just tried to shove behind the monitor and forget about; it's quite striking and looks good on my desk. The fan does make some noise...because it's a fan. But I never notice it unless the room is dead silent.Putting this together was easy and the instructions were clear. This is a great way to bring the Raspberry Pi off the workbench and into the office.
