Electrocution warning is NO JOKE!!!
I bought this kit to use for makeup flocking. I'd seen it done with expensive flocking guns, so when I found this one, I figured I would give it a shot.I'll start by saying, this gun works great. It was SUUUPER easy to use - just put the the flock inside, make sure the internal wire is touching the "cage", clip the ground wire to what you're flocking, and gently shake the flock out while holding the red button. Now, the danger warning ... I only used the gun for about 15 seconds while flocking my makeup for Halloween ... That's about all I got before I gave myself the shock of a lifetime. I'm talking a SHOCK - not a zap! It was strong enough to send the gun flying from my hand into my bathroom mirror, and gave my hair a little rise. Thankfully, I'm OK and nothing broke. (I imagine I'd be dead right now if I wore a pacemaker.)So, the man upstairs taught me a valuable lesson ... DON'T play with electricity, and DO pay attention to warning labels! I finished my makeup by patting on the rest of the flock.

Works if used within its limitations
This is a relative low (few thousand volts, not tens of thousands) voltage unit. It works quite nicely if you clip the ground onto the wetted area, especially if a tiny amount of ions (e.g. droplets of dish soap, or pinch of salt) is dissolved in the glue-water mix that will hold the grass down. You do need to get fairly close (~2") to get the grass to stand up. It is a fairly large unit, so no good if you can't get within 2" of the space. For the price, if used at close range with properly conductive wetted area to be 'grassed' this works just fine.

It works well.
Took a couple of days to get and for someone who doesn't want to buy an applicator that 70 dollars or make their own, buy this. In the description it says 3-5 mm flocking powder but I used 2 mm and it worked fine. The packet of static grass that it comes with is 2 mm, and comes with about 30 grams worth, (packet is 3 by 5 inches).

STARTING OVER not happy
This is a converted bug zapper it only produces 3 kilo volts at max U need 15k to 30k volts for a good standing grass at any size.

Technically does work, but not very well
This static grass flocking kit simply doesn't work very well. While it does definitely electrify the screen and certainly provides a small amount of electrical charge, it is simply not good enough for anything under 5mm static grass. It also comes with barely any instructions, so this shouldn't be your first flocking device for static grass. The grass that comes with it appears to be at least 5mm grass and is... Horrendously green and got thrown out immediately.

Not impressed
Undecided but definitely not impressed so far...I order this to be used to build a layout for my son's model train table. I was so excited when it arrived but that faded quickly. I followed the instructions and blah! I actually think the grass looked better when I took a pinch of the grass with my fingers and sprinkled it on. To top it off, instructions say to hang the wire over so it touches the mess top. Well while doing that I got shocked and boy did that not feel good.Product is very light weight and feels very cheap. I am going to try again tomorrow and if the results are the same, it's going back!

Missing parts
Not all parts came with order.

Seems weak
Pretty weak on the static side, took way more passes than expected to get a variety of standing grass. Most just fell as if there was no charge and I was sprinkling them by hand.
