ContinentalGrand Prix 5000 Clincher Tire Black, 23Mm, Black Chili

Bought the 700x23 size in May 2021 and have over 2000 miles on them. No issues. Installed on a Trek Madone carbon bike with Mavic ksyrium wheels. After about 1000 miles I swapped front tire with rear and this seems to help increase the life of the tire since the rear tire wears faster (some riders say not to do this but works for me.) I keep 105 to 110 psi in these. I weigh 170lbs. Customers on here bashing this tire might be riding rough terrain, change tire pressure, or need to drop a few kilos of body weight.

I wanted to like this tire, but it has proven to be unreliable. We put these on two bikes, her road bike, and my TT bike. I flatted during my first triathlon. So much for that race. Since then I have flatted 3 more times. Maybe 500 miles or so. And my girlfriend flatted, which at 100lbs, hasn't happened in years. They may be faster than a more puncture resistant tire, but I'm not a fan. Won't buy again. Gatorskins for the rears for now. Putting these in the trash.

I've been riding for over 20 years, tried multiple brands of tires, Vittoria, Hutchinson, Specialized, Michelin, Bontrager and can count the amount of times I've gotten a flat during all that time and how long my tires lasted through 1000's of miles.Decided to go with continental in spite of reviews, merely because I just wanted to try for myself. Got the GP 5000 back in July of 2020 thus far the sidewalls are cracking and have tended to12 flats!Now I don't ride on rural roads or bad pavement, I'm fortunate to have beautiful paths to enjoy. These are 100% pure garbage and NOT CHEAP!Theres plenty of way better options out there, I carry 2 spares ALL THE TIME, I've got thru them all in one ride,getting stranded, walking back damaging expensive wheels, CRASHING after a blowout. This is my idea of Ive for so long love to do. DO NOT BUY.

These were so tight I had to buy a special tire lever to install them. It'll be a big problem if I get a flat but I do have a metal tire lever to get one side of the tire off. A plastic one will break. I thought this was a bad batch but another pair of the same tires from another source has the same issue. I've not had this issue with other continental tires.

If you have a one wheeled bycicle your Performance Bike Tire Set of 2 will be absolutely perfect and would probably deserve 5 stars for the quality of the tyre but as only a single tire (or tyre as we prefer to call it) is included in the Set of 2 not ideal... unless of course you purchase a set of 4! I ended up returning my single tyre as at this price there are much cheaper options available.

Good tyres as had them before . bit they sent me the wrong size so I returned them and they charged me for delivery. won't use them again . got of stigma sports instead and was£15 less
