I recently bought this sound card and it was the easiest thing to set up on my mac, just plug and use. With the great quality of the card, and a good set of headphones or stereo speakers. You will have the experience you never had with those old sound cards

For some reason the mic jack in my laptop stopped working. When I received this Star Tech 7.1 usb device I discovered the mic jack in the unit is for a mic that is already digital. This device does not convert analog input to digital, and I think the product description should state that for those of us who don't understand this yet. I gave this unit a four star rating because the stereo sound from it sounded the same to me (through headphones) as it does from the headphone jack in my laptop. If the sound is out in your sound card, this device will do a good job replacing that function, and set up and use went just fine otherwise. I've sent the unit back, but the price was the lowest around, and have had good experience so far with both Amazon and HDE.

This item is very easy to use. Volume buttons on the device help. Sound volume could have been higher but the quality is excellent just have to Jack up the volume higher than normal...a good buy for the price

The headphone jack on my laptop bit the dust. Super annoying---thought I'd have to have it repaired and I'm sure that would be expensive; this USB dongle is a fantastic workaround, and the sound quality is exactly what it was before. UPDATED: I'm sorry to say it stopped working after about four months. So while that's annoying, it DID work, and for the cost, it's cheaper than replacing my laptop.

My laptop lacked the necessary sound board for a speech-to-text software so I bought this adapter. It works perfectly, is easy to configure, and, unlike a regular sound board, is portable. I highly recommend it to anyone who needs just such a device.

Habe mir ohne vorrezesion auf gut Glück diese externe Soundkarte für mein Mac Book Air gekauft, da das MBA ja keinen Line In Eingang hat. Anschließen und danach nur in den Einstellungen auf die Soundkarte schalten und das wars Schon funktioniert alles Da die Karte vorrangig für Win ist wird sie bei Windoof Geräten min genau so gut funktionieren !

Per 20 euro è un ottima scheda audio esterna, la qualità audio è buona mentre quella costruttiva è molto buona (non è un apparecchio fragile), nel mio caso l'ho dovuta usare come sostituto dell'ingresso jack del mio portatile, e fa il suo lavoro. Dispone del controllo volume da chiavetta.

I just bought a second one of these. How come? Because it works right out of the box, it sounds excellent, and it works seamlessly with Linux. I like its sound way better than my computer's built-in sound, in fact! I bought my first one to give my old ca 2000 Toshiba laptop decent modern sound. It was great for that, too. It's a great sound-enhancing tool that you can take with you anywhere.
