While brands like Rimowa and Tumi are often my go-to for travel gear, their options didn't accommodate my laptop size, leading me to this Samsonite model.I was pleased to discover that this luggage indeed fits a 17-inch laptop comfortably, just as one reviewer had noted. However, it's essential to plan how you pack accompanying accessories like cables and a mouse since these do not fit in the standard pockets designed for smaller 15-inch laptops. Utilizing the inner pockets effectively allows for a neat and organized arrangement.Besides its capability to transport my laptop securely, the luggage also offers enough room for clothing, making it suitable for short trips. Based on my experience, this carry-on is ideal for one to two-day journeys. For anything longer, especially if you prefer not to check luggage, you might find it a bit limiting due to its size.Overall, the Samsonite Unisex-Adult Solid Luggage is a robust choice for short business trips or quick getaways where a larger laptop needs to come along. Its construction is sturdy, typical of Samsonite's quality, and it rolls smoothly, making airport navigation a breeze. Really excellent design.Easy access to the laptop & electronics while the case is sitting upright on its wheels - without exposing the clothing compartment. Reasonably spacious on the clothing side, enough for a weekend at least. Clamshell opening is really nice - more bags should imitate this one. Notice the wheels are way out at the edges, improving stability.Overall I like the design of this bag better than other carry-ons I've owned. Hope the engineer who designed it got a nice bonus.Construction seems sturdy. So far it's been on one trip and seems no worse for the wear. Looks are subtle: it's not at all showy, but also obviously not tourist luggage.Note: this bag is NOT particularly light. It's great for American domestic airlines - but it's going to be fairly useless on overseas budget airlines with tight carry-on weight limits.
