Another box set I bought from Amazon for my family's little one. Just my cousin called me back and told me that his daughter loved the box set. It was an easy read. She enjoyed it. My only problem is, they should come up with more stories. And more books in the set. Thank you very much. Excellent price. And it put a smile on my little cousin. Thank you very much, Adam Altman

I bought the first book set (books 1-4) the summer before my daughter started 1st grade (6yr old) and she LOVES them. It is six months later and I just ordered the last book set (books 10-12). She can read them on her own for the most part but we take turns reading together. They are perfect for young kids who have learned to read. The adventures Ivy and Bean go on is hilarious, even as an adult I enjoy reading them with my daughter. Good clean fun and humor. There are pictures but not on every page. It is definitely a step up from the kindergarten books that are still mostly pictures with just a few sentences. These are more like an intro to real chapter books. If you have an advanced reader ready for something a little more challenging these are perfect and so much fun to read. My daughter looks forward to reading them every night and has a hard time putting them down. Great series! Well written and illustrated!

I LOVE this book series. I stumbled on it on Amazon and decided to give it a try. I have not been disappointed and neither have my kids. I have two boys, aged 8 and 6, and a daughter, aged 3.5. All of them equally love this book series - and that's not an easy goal to achieve. These books remind me so much of my own childhood and growing up. They're just full of great stories, spoken in a language that kids can relate to. Every book has another set of great adventures and they always make us laugh. I love reading these books and hearing my kids start giggling because of Ivy and Bean's, well, mostly Bean's, antics. What I think I love the most about these books though is that Ivy and Bean are really modern-day heroines. They are strong-willed, gutsy, give it to the boys, confident young girls. I love that my two rambunctious boys find them hilarious. I get so sick of the princess/fairy culture filled with vapid stories of "girls". My boys are totally disinterested in those stories, as they should be. But as soon as the new Ivy and Bean book arrives, they pay attention, listen attentively, laugh and just find these two characters so hilarious. The only gripe I have is that they're too short. We get through these in about 2 nights worth of reading. If there's an unabridged edition out there somewhere, I'd love to get my hands on it!

Bought these books for 6 year old granddaughter. She loves them! Very well put together and sturdy. Great beginner reader books. The price was very reasonable.

We love this series ! It is hard to get my daughter to read so I bought this set, and she reads it on her own !

My six-year-old daughter reads at the second-third grade level and I'm always on the look-out for books that will appeal to her. She was keen on the Junie B. Jones books (which I personally do not care for), and then moved on to the Young Cam Jansen and Cam Jansen, Amber Brown, and now, we've both discovered best friends Ivy and Bean!This set contains books 1-3, and focuses on the friendship and adventures of two seven-year-old girls Ivy and Bean who live in the same neighborhood. Initially, Bean (who has short dark hair) does not care to play with Ivy (who has red hair), but an unusual 'meeting' results in the beginning of a lovely and fun friendship! The story is engaging and held my young daughter's attention as she read through the story (average of 40 pages over 45 minutes - the first book has 120 pages). She read the first book over three nights, before proceeding to the second book.The second book, Ivy and Bean And the Ghost that Had to Go, and the third book, Ivy and Bean Break The Fossil Record also contain engaging plots. The black and white illustrations which are abundant throughout the books kept my young daughter who is a visual learner eager to read on to discover what happens in the story. This series is perfect for young readers who are attaining fluency as independent readers and the sentences are just the right length to encourage and stimulate young readers' motivation to read. Highly recommended!

Acheté pour ma fille de 8 ans.Elle n'a pas accroché au début, elle trouvait les histoires difficile à comprendre. Puis elle s'est entêtée et les a lu.Au final, elle m'a dit qu'elle avait bien aimé, mais qu'elle n'en voulait pas plus parce que les filles ne parlaient pas bien.Et en effet, bien que les histoires soient rigolottes, je trouve qu'elles manquent un petit peu de morale. L'une des deux filles est une rebelle, au point que même ma fille ne la supporte plus.
