MartinLogan Motion FX Surround Speaker (Black -Single Speaker)

I bought the MartinLogan Motion FX Surround Speakers to round out a Yamaha Sound Bar system in my small living room (to make bring it a true 5.1 system). I didn't like any of the Yamaha options - so branched out to other brands. I have to admit that aesthetics played a big role in my choice - I wanted something that would look decent mounted on the wall by the sides of my couch (the curves look beautiful). I did a little research on the audiophile-wannabe boards and the speakers received good reviews. I am really happy with the MartinLogan Motion FX Surround Speakers - they sound amazing: smooth, refined sound with great dynamic range and clarity. I highly recommend them and will definitely buy MartinLogan speakers again.

I used these as my side surrounds with MartinLogan Motion SLM-XLs as the L-C-R channels. They round out the system beautifully, and do so while aesthetically passing the wife test. These are not small, but the shape hugs the wall reasonably well, and the white chassis/grille looks good. The sound is tight, warm, and well balanced (driven by Onkyo TR838) and the dispersion is indeed wide. The wide dispersion is more important than I had imagined.

I received this item with a box destroyed, It look look like it was in a war, I don’t know for how long this item was stored. But I believe or deserve an extra discount for the condition of the box.

I purchased these speakers for rear surround sound along with electromotion cl2 (center) and ESL (front left & right). They sound great and work well with my living room space and look like 2 little clouds behind the coach. I chose these over the FX2 because they are little smaller and the FX2 's don't come in white. The make and sound of these speakers is what you would expect from Martinlogan. So happy with quality of sound I would consider even using them alone in small setup.

These do sound terrific and have an interesting design. They are a significant improvement over the HTiB speakers I had before. However, they're also quite a bit larger than I expected, keeping them from 'vanishing' into the visual space the way one might want them to; the pictures here really belie their size. And I think they're quite expensive for surround speakers. Understanding that I didn't shy away from purchasing expensive front speakers (also MartinLogans), and I do intend to get one of those high-end MartinLogan electrostatic center speakers (Stage or Motif), I'm having doubts about the real value of such expensive surrounds. But again, they do sound terrific - I'm completely satisified by the sound.

These speakers are excellent, in use as surround speaker, be sure your amp can handle 4 ohm speakers as some receiver can only handle 6 ohm as minimum. 4-ohm Speakers Should Typically Be Mated with Higher Power Amplifiers. But this will be ok for average TV listening levels for louder levels the receiver might go in protection modus

I have the motion 40 for the fronts and motion lx16 for surround and these for the rear surround with a 700 sub powered by a marantz 5010 and they sound better than any theater I've been in, I've tried many different brands like Sonos and bw and these do it for me, these sound great

When you want the best you choose Martin - Logan .
