They sold me a lemon
It never worked and emailed the company several times only for them to reply we can replace it with a fee. Why should I pay more for something to be fixed when it arrived broken? Scam, plain and simple.

Amazing idea with poor execution
Takes a lot of work and patience to get it set up to draw at all due to bugs and quirks of immature software. Marker quality is low and images are faint. Once working, it is hard to produce high quality images unless you are using permanent markets or on a whiteboard. Amazing idea with poor execution.

Mesmerized...
I had no trouble getting this to draw on my walls. Set up is super straightforward and my only gripe is that the included markers aren’t dark enough for my colored walls. I used a washable crayola marker and had wonderful results. The app will transform any picture into a drawable image- although the filters offered don’t always compliment the picture. I isolated the Art Basel Banana from one of my photographs and used the circular filter in preparation for the Scribit’s rendering of it. (See the pics) I think it turned out really well considering I chose to use a brown washable marker- black would have been possibly more dramatic. The app gives you the length of time needed to complete the draw which is very useful. It draws rather slowly but it is absolutely mesmerizing! I have it permanently stationed in my hallway by the guest bathroom so it entertains when I entertain!

Buyer beware
I guess I should start from the beginning.Ordered this directly from scribit to decorate my (then upcoming) daughter’s room. It was a 3 month lead time which turned into 5. No biggie. The scribit came with 1/2 the markers it should have with a note explaining that there were a couple setbacks at the factory and had a voucher code for some free ones when I decided to place my next order. Again, no biggie.Started going through trying to set this thing up. It took me hours. For starters the power supply was bad right out of the box. The unit gives no indication that it isn’t on. No light, no switch, no nothing. After I figured out that the power supply was bad I managed to find pretty much the same thing (volts, amps, plug type). The thing fired right up. Frustrating but cool.I then spent another hour trying to connect to the stupid thing. I can’t recall the sequence of connection steps but I do recall connecting to the unit itself first using a password that they printed in all caps. Well the password is case sensitive and it turned out only the first letter was capitalized and the rest were lower case. Not cool but I worked through it. The other problem was it wanted you to enter your WiFi network and password-not select it, enter it. This wasn’t very fun either when your WiFi is something like comcast_xfinity377432589642-6 and a password that is something similar. Again, all are case sensitive.Great, connected, fired up and ready to go. Tried doing the first run of my her name and birthday (she was born by now because of the delay).1 selectable font, 1 selectable size, no fill, no other colors, aligned left only. Not real impressed with the lack of options but let’s give it a whirl.Scribit locks up when it started writing. Hitting cancel on the phone did nothing. Gave it a whole to fix itself, tried closing the app. Had to unplug the scrub it to get it to reset. Tried writing the same thing a few times. On the 4th attempt it completed the “writing”. It was so light you couldn’t make it out without looking VERY closely at the wall. Tried pushing the marker further in and ran through writing it again. Slightly better but still can’t really make it out. Doesn’t help that it wrote everything adjacent to the first one. I should have mentioned that there is a “dot” where you reset the scribit every time for a home point or a “0”.I wasn’t real pleased that it couldn’t retrace it’s own steps on something simple. How in the heck is this thing supposed to be self erasing?I tried using a few pictures in the app. When it would convert it it would be a few random squiggly lines and dots. Nothing remotely distinguishable from the original. Tried several photos in several light settings. All the same.At this point I have killed at least 1/2 a day (probably closer to a full day). I’m pretty frustrated, not working, stuff missing, shoddy instructions, shoddy programming, a semi functioning unit. All the cool stuff you see on their website, yeah....you can’t get it to make those either. So I’m kinda peeved that I can’t make something cool let alone Disney themed LET ALONE HER NAME AND BIRTHDAY!So I try to reach out to scribit looking for a new power supply, some wisdom on the markers, and if there was a future update that could fix the rest of the issues. No phone number. Okay cool.No chat. Cool. The have a FAQ for troubleshooting. Lack of power was to check the outlet. Obviously outlet wasn’t the problem. No other option of “this isn’t the problem”. I dug around for a while and eventually found an email for support. Emailed them with my problems. No response.Week later tried again. No response.Few days later tried some email addresses I received from initial purchase. No response.I ended up going stalker mode and dug up a phone number in Italy and made a long distance phone call. Luckily the female who answered also spoke English. She listened, asked me to email again (which I did). Some time went buy and eventually someone responded asking me to explain the problem I was having (they replied to my email explaining my problems). I informed them that I listed the problems in the email they Responded to and if there was something they wanted more specifics on.No response. Tried emailing again, got another response asking me what problems I was having (again, they responded to the email where I listed them....I can see the write up in the body of the email).Month later I emailed asking for a refund. No response.I threw this thing in the trash and started the process to reverse the charges with American Express. In short it does far less than advertised, doesn’t work, no support. It’s at best a novelty item that ends up at the local dump.
