Kenmore Elite 9918 Refrigerator Air Filter, 2 pack

Too good to be true. Not convinced this is a true Kenmore product. Returned item and purchased from Sears. This item is not properly sealed. There are only two small strips of tape where the Kenmore product is sealed all the way around. Packaging also does not match up with current Kenmore packaging. Kenmore box has an integrated divider. This product does not. The part number is even in a different location.

Very disappointed in the quality. They have changed the manufacturing and these are sub-standard. See the photo: bottom one is how they used to be manufactured with all sides of the filter sealed; the top one is what I received in my most current order and a couple of pieces of tape were slapped on the sides to hold the filter in place. It gaps open and there is no complete seal.

I love my LG fridge. I was very disappointed when I initially priced LG brand filters. They are so expensive! Then I learned from other Amazon shoppers that Kenmore Elite are exact product replacements at much lower price. Just Google to confirm that you are purchasing correct filters for your particular model. They installed seamlessly. So grateful for all the help I get from fellow Amazon shoppers. That's the only reason I take time to post reviews for every day items I purchased. Thanks to all of you who also share reviews!

They seem to work well but do not come with instructions, so while the act of placing them into the fridge is pretty straight forward, you don’t know if you’re supposed to leave attached the small square of fabric literally held over the charcoal with tape, or remove it before installation. You also don’t know which direction to install the filter, fabric side facing against the back wall or outward toward the interior cavity. We left the fabric attached only because it loooooks like it’s taped precisely enough so as not to be intended for removal, but instructions would be helpful.

i have attached some photos to show the OEM filter next to these filters (the one on the left is the OEM) this one is a cheap knock off note the masking tape holding the filter material in place, the OEM one has three layers of carbon filter and you can not see through it like this one (i have also included two photos showing the separate layers of the OEM filter.

These air filters are the part required for my refrigerator, and have been replaced every time the indicator light shows which is usually every 6-6.5 months for the 9 years we have owned it. These look like the ones I used to buy in-store, when we had one near us. The promised delivery time was 2days, and they arrived when promised.

This air filter removes odors and keeps our refrigerator clear of strong smells from foods such as onions. We didn't realize how well this filter worked until our refrigerator notification came on stating it was time to replace the air filter and you could tell by the smell! No notification needed lol and that smell was from fresh food!! Definitely a rebuy.

Husband always has issue installing the water filter but eventually gets it done. The water n air filters are required to continue proper working of the fridge so a review is not really appropriate since they’re basically a part of/required for the fridge.
