This thing can seriously remove some corrosion when used in conjunction with the grey polishing compound. If you have some heavy corrosion its better to use a bench belt sander with a 400 grit belt first, then use this wheel with compound to knock down the sanding marks. I use this wheel as a first step in most instances then use a lighter buffing wheel with red compound to get a nice shine.Pros: Very good at removing scuffs and light scratches when used with grey compoundCons: Will not effect heavy corrosion (its not designed to anyway)

this disc is amazing at polishing aluminum... after sanding with wet sand paper grits 220 , 320 I used it on a grinder with mothers polish and looked great...took out scratches and left an amazing shine!

Could be better material is a little too loose for my taste but it gets the job done.

The D2523 8 inch hard sisal buffing wheel worked well and got the desired results. If you are new to using a buffing wheel avoid injury or death by doing your homework on how to safely use a buffing wheel. Other than that, prepare to amaze your friends and coworkers with all the shiny stuff you made.

Good, but not the best for knife making.

This is a good hard sisal buffing wheel. I needed a harder wheel for smoothing up stainless, and this wheel worked very well. I also used a rougher compound with this wheel Then I used a softer wheel and compound to get a polished finish. i would buy this product from Amazon again.
