Traxxas 59074 Slayer Pro 4 x 4 RC Truck

I been searching for a rc nitro car for a while. This is the first ever nitro car I brought. I had no experience with using one but I was going to learn. I wanted something thqt was rtr and included everything. I also wanted something that I can change up and upgrade and buy part for and etc. I was also looking at this because this one was a short course truck. I got a short course instead of a buggy or truckie because this one has the body that covers the wheels so if I clip something while driving like a wall I wouldnt lose a wheel. So this one was a go. Breaking it in was a little bit of a pain partly because this was my first nitro and also I didnt read the directions thoroughly and properly like I should have. The instructions are easy to read and understand. I had a hard time with my break in because it kept shutting off and stalling and sometimes it wouldnt turn on. After I fixed everything ( re read the manual ) it started coming along. You do have to make some adjustments as your warming it up and getting ut going but its nothing to hard or difficult. I drove this thing on my schools campus and holy s*** its fast. I doubt that I hit the top speed but its so entertaining to drive. I did roll it about 3/4 turns either turning to fast ( this is fixable btw) and I was scared I broke it. Its totally fine. The body is made of lexan so it hard to break or crack. Ive rolled it and scraped against the wall at high speeds and it can take a beating. Also this isnt a car you just play with and let it sit. you have to do maintenance on if you gonna let it it for a couple days. Its easy and take about 10mins. I highly recommend this car even if your a newbie or experienced.FYI sqaure trade is an insurance company you can find on amazon. I got the car insuranced just in case something happens to it. I got the three year accidental ( covers everything as far as I see it ). Its $75 dollars which sounds like alot but if you break this car just file the claim instead of buying another car.So final price, the car with the taxes and insurance came out to like $560/570. Sounds like alot and it is but, I strongly believe that if you want a good rc car that is durable,fast, fun, relative easy to fix,tune and maintain and let not forget insured, this is it!

I received it quickly and it was brand new out of the box. Great product and just follow the break in procedures that is outlined in the manual. I just finished the break in and it seems to be working fine. If anything happens I will come back to this review and edit it.

We have owned several different Traxxas RC trucks and know how to break them in properly. This one was nothing but trouble. Never made it through the break-in process--had to be sent back. Won't buy another one of this model.

This is a great truck. I had a couple problems getting it started at first the truck just would not idle out of the box it would die instantly when I would remove the starter. I had to lean the low speed just a little and turn the idle up and it fired right up. Ran great ever sense break in was fine and its been great ever sense. I repeated the tank 5 break in procedure through tanks six - eight just make sure the engine was broke in fully. when I started to tune it I leaned the high speed out approx two 1/8th turns and its tuned to my liking already , thank u amazon! Oh by the way the receiver sucks the range is horrible I can't even open it up to full speed for more than a second be for im hammering the brakes. I'd say maybe 100 to 120 feet away it starts acting wierd and delayed specially if its windy, beware u might have a run away past that!

Great nitro car. I broke it in pretty fast and easy. Tho had to replace the slipper pads. Believe after break in I should have tightened it down a bit. Then I had a spur gear strip. Really love racing thing car around. A blast to run!

This thing is a blast! Started easy from the start. If you go with a nitro, break it in by the book. Doesn't take long, but is crucial to engine life, plus it's a good way to get a feel for this little monster.Buy one if you like fun. Otherwise buy a stupid electric model.

Awsome nitro Rc truck. Very very fast and easy to tune. Almost indestructible. Easy maintenance and dependable. No problems very satisfied .

first off this this is a massive truck! it is absolutely top quality if u want a awesome rtr truck look no further andpulk the trigger on this bad boy!
