I used these to retrofit an old army trunk because we are using it as a toy box. These have worked so great and my wife is no longer freaking out wearing the kids are going to lose a finger when the box lid slams closed. It opened slowly and requires minimal force to close.

The lid on my trucks toolbox wouldn't remain open due to worn out arms. These fit perfectly and are doing the job so far.

Used to replace the windshield struts on my Arctic Cat SxS. They fit with some minor mods and function great. They’re plenty strong to hold the windshield up when driving down a trail.

These were purchased to replace a failed gas strut on a theater recliner arm cubby lid. They snapped perfectly into place on the original ball brackets. They work great and lift the arm lid after a slight lift and close completely with no issues. Would definitely purchase again if needed and recommend them to others. Just check that the dimensions match.

The metal clips are a pain to deal with

I tried a pair of these that were rated at 6 Lb, and they did not hold up my lid on my stereo system. I found the formula to figure out correct pressure needed. These 22 Lb worked great.

Not only was the size 9.5 ball center to ball center the ends seem poorly designed. Hard to pull out the metal clamp without one side coming all the way out and very hard to put back in. Broke one end trying to get the second side out so I had to use one end from my old rod that was easier to use and better made. I would have returned these rods due to wrong size if I hadn't broke one end trying to install it. I've installed and removed many rods and never had any as bad as these. You better hope the ends of your current rods can replace the ends that come on these rods. They were cheap but I would not order again.
