Mounts easily, but I changed the pull string to a ball chain
I purchased this for a playhouse we built for our kids. We wanted some type of lighting so that it would not be completely dark in the playhouse (the size of a shed) in case they played in there at night during the summer or if they even had a sleepover in there. For lighting something the size of a small shed I'd say that the light output is reasonable for 10 LEDs.The design of this system is mostly intelligent: the cord is long which meant that I could place the solar panel on the roof or side of the house and run the cord inside. It would have been slightly easier if the end of the plug was straight rather than L-shaped because it meant that I had to drill a bigger hole into the side of the playhouse in order to feed the plug through. There are several attachment options for the solar panel. The plastic base that it attaches to allows you to swivel the panel to face any direction, and it also comes with an L-shaped metal arm that could attach to both the bracket and the solar panel itself in case you are configuring it in a tricky spot. I've got the panel attached to the side of the playhouse but facing upward and it charges easily. The design of the charging unit that goes inside the building is smart. First of, it uses rechargeable batteries that can be replaced simply by taking the cover off. No screwdrivers are necessary for this. Thus, if a battery goes bad you can easily replace it. Secondly, the unit has a charging light on it. This meant that I could place the solar panel somewhere and have confidence in permanently attaching it to the building because I could see that it was charging. Also, because the plug actually plugs into the lighting unit, one could theoretically plug this into things other than the LED lighting unit. However, it's a very small plug but if you had matching appliances it could work. Here are two minor tips I experienced:1) The unit comes fully charged. I did not realize that there was a charging light on the LED unit so I discharged the batteries by leaving the light on overnight. The light stayed on for 27 straight hours and it gave off its full light for most of that time.2) The pull cord it comes with is a string. I was hanging this high up in my kids' playhouse so I wanted a longer string and a more durable cord. I took the screws out of the back of the LED unit and found that the string was tied to a lever. Using some tiny pliers I was able to undo the knot in the string. I tied that end to a thread and the other end of the thread to a very thin ball chain that I had. I was then able to feed the ball chain through the level and cap it off with one of those connectors at the end of the ball chain. That way, it would be secure and not go through the hole. The ball chain had a tendency to catch on the lever itself so I took some scotch tape and wrapped it around that part of the ball chain that goes through the lever. I did this after I had fed it through so I had to push some of the ball chain back up but if you can plan properly and do it beforehand, you'll be in even better shape.

Pretty good for the price.
I bought this light for my 10'X15' shed a month ago. Installation took about 20 minutes in all, including several trips to the house & back for drill bits, etc. Like one previous reviewer I was a little surprised that the power cord plugs into the light base with a 90 degree elbow plug. That requires you to drill about a 5/8 in hole in the wall just to get the plug through, so be sure you have some caulk during installation. The screws included were pretty soft and I ended up stripping some. The light unit must be removed to change the battery, so if you're not highly skilled with a power drill you may want to substitute screws to ensure you can get the base off the wall later on. It performs well enough in the dark to find a tool, but it's not very bright in the daytime at all. The pull cord works very well--it doesn't require a hard pull like a lot of other ones, so that took some getting used to (in a good way). I had been looking to purchase a solar light for some time, and this one meets my needs & expectations fine. If you need a work light consider another product. If you just need something to keep you from walking into your yard tools after sunset this will do the job fine.

Good lighting for small areas, like a shed
I bought this to use as a light in my shed. Even though the shed is like 4 feet from my house, it was never wired with power. I was tired of fumbling with a flashlight when I needed something and the sun was down so I finally found this.It was ready to install and since it had just a single wire, very easy to get working. It’s not an amazing amount of light but it’s enough so you can see what you’re doing.Build quality seems decent, though not great but it’s not going to get too much use so I’m not worried.Recommended for anywhere you want light but don’t want to have to worry about hardwiring power to it or having to worry about batteries (the unit actually comes with two rechargeable batteries that get charged from the panel).

Easy set-up . . . brought light to the darkness
First the good: It was very easy to install and came pre-charged. With the super long cord, I was able to run the cord through the vent of the shed so the solar panel receives maximum exposure AND place the light inside the shed where I needed it. And, since the on/off cord to the light is also pretty long, I mounted the light about 7' high on the wall so it doesn't blind me when I turn it on. I only use the light for about 30-minutes a day so I have it on the bright setting and haven't run into any issues with it being dim. And the time I forgot to turn it off, it charged enough in 8 hours the next day for me to use it that night. Now the bad: The solar panel does not look like the one in the picture - the picture shows more solar panels. But, this has not diminished its charging capabilities. The light, itself, is not terribly bright. This is not task lighting, but it does illuminate my 6' x 12' feed shed enough that when it's dark out, I can still see all the feed bins, buckets, scoops, and instructions.Overall, this light is doing it's job.

Still works after 9 yrs
Bought these in 2014. Had to go back to confirm what I paid after I pulled one down to move it and realized these are ancient and impressed me that they still work so great.Bought two in 2014 for 34.99 each Canadian.Installed in harsh Canadian winters.Solar panel on roof of shed and wire running inside. It's now 2023 and they still hold a charge. They still are bright and nice. Still work flawlessly.Im impressed and worth the price increase to 75

Lighting a 10x14' shed.
The product works as advertised, however the light is a bit underpowered to light an entire 10x14' shed adequately. When it is night and fully dark, the light does provide enough general light to see around. All the same, even on high, the light level is so low that I need a flashlight to see details such as labels on boxes, etc. However I found a workaround to the problem. The shed is metal. This allows me to mount the light with stick-on magnets. Please note that I supplied the magnets, they do not come with the light. Because the for the light cord is long, I can then move the light where it's needed and stick it on the wall. When used in this manner, the light is strong enough to illuminate smaller sections of the shed nicely. I think the light would be strong enough to provide good over all light in a smaller shed.

Works well enough when it can get a good enough charge
Works well enough when it can get a good enough charge. We use ours in an approx. 60 sqft mudroom and it lights up the room well enough to see what we are doing. Its never on very long, so duration isn't a huge issue. I suspect that it will gather better charge in the spring and summer than it does in the fall - just the nature of the (solar) beast ...

nice looking but not the best quality
Light works good, but the solar panel has broken off and was found on the ground. Unsure why it just broke it was attached to the wood facia of my shed. It's cool outside but no snow or anything else I can see that caused to break off at the bracket. Only Lasted 6 months.

Faulty Design, company failed to address Warranty
The media could not be loaded. This light worked OK for about 45 days. After that, it started working intermittently. LEDs would turn on but wouls start to flicker, or,turn on at only ~30% brightness. By turning the light OFF and then ON again would fix it, but the problem was getting progressively worse. After the winter, during which the light was not used, it stopped working altogether.I contacted company (CCI/Southwire) responsible for this product in early April 2020. Afer their initial reply asking to provide the proof of purchase, which I did, there was, and, still is to this day, a total silence. I guess the concept of Warranty does mean much for this product. The root cause for my light fixture failure is a faulty switch relay inside it. This Light is using subpar electronic components and the manufacturer does not seem to have adequate Quality Control.Absolutely unacceptable product and company's so-called "customer relations".
