The reason I bought this knife is because it has zdp-189 steel and is under $100. I never owned a knife that had 3% carbon before, but have read raving reviews on forums about the performance of this steel, so I decided to give it a try, especially since it's stainless with 20% chromium. When I looked it up, what really made me happy was the price. Most knives with exotic steels easily run over $100, and this knife cost less than $85. The combination of cutting-edge steel and FRN handle results in a compact and affordable cutting package.This is the first knife I bought that has a FRN handle. My first impression of it when I took it out of the box was that it felt similar to metal. Very hard, very dense, and grippy. IMHO I believe that G-10 has more grip to it, but the FRN has more grip than the checkered carbon fiber handles found on knives such as the Sage 1 and the Gayle Bradley. FRN is lightweight and the delica 4 has a bi-directional pattern that makes it more than satisfactory. I almost didn't get it because the handle isn't g-10, but I'm glad I did because the blade makes up for it.It was razor sharp out of the box just like any other spyderco I purchased. The handle is very ergonomic and fits well in the hand. The blade is a full flat grind, unlike the picture. It weighs very little in the hand or pocket, and is not bulky either. It comes with an inconspicuous black pocket clip, which is nice when you're around people who are afraid of knives. It is very comfortable and secure to hold and the blade locks securely in place with no wiggle room. The blade is less than 3 inches, so it should be legal in most states.Overall, I would recommend this knife to anyone who likes knives and can afford it. The compact, lightweight design and durable stainless steel make this knife a good candidate for EDC, too.

I really love the Spyderco Delica knife. It is a great lightweight knife that I have carried in my work dress pants for 4-5 years. I have been using a VG-10 version from approximately 2008 that has held up extremely well. You can carry this knife in virtually any pants without it being to heavy, which can't be said for some other knives I have. The blade is less than 3" so it should be legal in most jurisdictions in the country so you don't have to worry about "legal" issues. The Endura, while a similar design, just larger seems too big from my perspective. I'm am looking forward to years of top performance from this version of the Delica with the premium ZDP189 steel.I have read lots of reviews of the ZDP-189 steel and they all talk about outstanding edge holding capabilities. Just sharpen it regularly because it is very tough to resharpen if it gets too dull and don't "pry" with it because it is on the the brittle side. The knife looks great with the green handles and razor sharp blade. There are many improvements of the Delica4 versus earlier versions, including a grippier handle, a better pocket clip attachment method (my old one has a single stud attaching it which often needs to be tightened, vs the 3 allen screw attahment method.) The clip can also be attached in 4 different positions vs the old version's 2 positions, although I usually leave it tip up carry, you have the option with the 4 to carry tip down. The price on Amazon was 15% or more cheaper (~$84) than any knife shop and included free delivery. If this is too expensive for you, you won't go wrong with a Delica 4 VG-10 model for about $54. In any case the Delica 4 ZDP-189 is a Awesome Knife for a Great price!!

I have owned a Delica since 1994. Old steel, old plastic clip, several trips back to Colorado for tweakage. This knife has better steel, insanely sharp, metal clip, and can be taken apart. I know i DID wait 21 years to get another one, but this one is worth the weight.It is harder to sharpen, so i went all in, brought edge down to 18 deg per then stropped, polished, and buffed. Insanely sharp. Must be careful sharp. Action could be a little looser, but ill let time do it. I run it on my hip under belt with slacks on, in pocket of jeans, and/or clip out on brief case. The plastic is a big ruff, but its fine.Missing star: RUST! Couldnt believe it. I am anal with my lubes...as any good man should be! I was using food safe lanolin based fluid film, which i love. This AFTER 20 mins bring her to a nice polish with flitz. SOMEONE cut something wet, and folded her back up and did clean her or wipe her down...some time later, no idea, but less than a week as I clean all three EDC knives weekly, I opened her up & bam! Wasnt expecti g the film, rust, spots, its, on the 189 & with the polish and lube. Pretty much buffed out and off now, but MAN was I upset!

Questa operazione può essere fatta sia con la mano destra, che con la sinistra.Di contro, sul dorso del manico è presente un dispositivo Lock Back che impedisce alla lama di chiudersi accidentalmente durante l’uso, tenendola saldamente in posizione senza gioco alcuno.Infine, per chiudere il coltello, basta premere il Lock Back per liberare la lama e richiuderla come nella foto qui sotto.ConclusioneLo Spyderco Endura 4 C10FPGY in versione con guancette grigie è un coltello a serramanico compatto, che tuttavia arriva a ben 22 cm una volta aperto, il che non è proprio poco per un coltello tascabile.Ottima la lama in acciaio VG-10 di provenienza giapponese, che non fa altro che aumentare la qualità generale del coltello.Grazie alle soluzioni adottate, è un coltello decisamente facile da usare, consigliato a chi è alla ricerca di un oggetto pratico, da portare con sé tutti i giorni, che faccia egregiamente il suo dovere quando necessario, e che non ingombri più del dovuto durante il trasporto.

Il coltello come già sapete ha un acciaio altamente superiore , peccato che la lama è quella più fina , quindi non uguale alla foto. Consultandomi con un operatore Amazon abbiamo risolto egregiamente , come solo Amazon riesce a fare . Per tanto metto 4 stelle solo perché speravo nell'altro modello di lama . by L7
