The real thing!!
Happy to have found real purée with no sugar added: perfect accompaniment to turkey, duck, goose or any venison.

Very bad...tastes like beans.
To me it tasted like beans. Back home in eastern Europe chestnut was very expensive long time ago and some people added beans to it to save money. You could tell most of the time that there were some beans in it. This product to me tastes like little chestnuts and LOTS of beans. It tastes horrible.

Great, expensive
You do need to handle it before use - add some syrup to boost flavor and thin it out, and then strain. My only complaint is that it's a bit pricey. It s a big can but goes quickly.

Excellent quality
I used this to make Mont Blanc. Boil 2cups of water, 1cup of sugar and 1 vanilla bean scrapped and cut until it reduces to 3/4 cup. Beat the chestnut purée until it’s smooth. Slowly add the cooled water and whip in 4tbsp soft butter. Pass through a sieve. It had wonderful flavor and texture, smooth, sweet but not saccharine, intense chestnut taste. Perfect.
