A pleasant surprise
First the negative: this book is kind of the epitome of the “privileged rich white lady writes a book about health”.She gallivants around the world going to expensive spas for treatments I couldn’t dream of affording. There were plenty of moments in the book where I just had to skip forward. The recipes contain some esoteric ingredients you kind of have to ignore if you live in the us or Canada. But she isn’t a Gwyneth Paltrow. She’s not selling you something. She is sincere and has the curiosity of a scientist and she writes well.I enjoyed it in spite of myself.

Fascinating!
I really enjoyed this book, learned a lot about current thinking on inflammation, and my best takeaway is the idea that we should try to experience "awe" in some way every day, through nature's glory, or creativity of making or listening to music that moves us, or even interaction with a baby. Especially in hard times like this pandemic, the joy and awe is so essential to help us experience something greater than ourselves. I loved this book!

Life changing
An amazing informative read. She took all the research plus her own and compiled it into an easy to understand life changing read.

nothing to learn from this book
waist of money and my time, you can’t learn anything from this book, eat healthy, lower your sugar intake, exercise, meditation, get enough sleep, be in nature make you healthy. Everyone knows about this already, nothing new, all book just about that plus few recipes. Book is really hard to read, author just talking mostly about her jorney to healthy lifestyle, that’s all. Wish I can return this book, also hardcover book is kind of heavy to carry around.

Heavy on storytelling
I have the audible version. The author is a good writer but I’m interested in health information and not all the details of her travels, family etc. it is too heavy on story for me and too light on hard health info. So, depending on what you want, you will like or be frustrated by this. If you want to hear a personal struggle with health issues and the process of discovering more personally, than this is for you. If you want specific information, research, etc, this is not.

A surprisingly informative and beautiful book
I am an older woman who reads books like these fairly often and fairly skeptically. How much new information can be offered on the right versus wrong way to eat ?So, I am unsure why Health Revolution caught and held my interest immediately; perhaps it is the whole idea of having a system that is “inflamed” versus eating foods that are anti-inflammatory . I like the idea of a body “calming down” due to eating well. But this book deals not only with the physical benefits but the mental ones. Since I have noticed a decline in my concentration and memory during the past few years, this really interested me.As Borelius points out, it is difficult to get our society away from the white sugar-pizza foods we all enjoy. But this book will at least make you think about reaching for a piece of fruit rather than a candy bar.It is also a beautiful book—lovely pictures, printed on good-quality paper!

Very relatable. Would recommend
As one reviewer has mentioned - she does go into detail about her travel. That being said if you are just getting introduced to the anti inflammatory lifestyle, or aren’t sure what your thoughts are on the subject - this is a great book. She writes it as a play by play of her research on the topics and how she started making the switch - along with every time she second guessed herself or fell off the bandwagon. It felt very relatable and one of the few books on this topic that I have read cover to cover. Would highly recommend.

A great book
This book makes you think about your diet in general. I have stopped eating bread and potatoes and have almost got my waist back! What are they putting in food nowadays? I think it's not the food itself but the processing and what animals are being fed. Read this and think and it all falls into place.

Same old same old!
Very disappointed with this book. Nothing new in the content; just the same as many other books on the subject. It's more like an autobiography than anything else. Expensive and unhelpful.

Strongly recommend Health Revolution
A very interesting and informative book for anyone with joint issues. Maria's journey to find the perfect anti inflammatory diet is a story in itself and one well worth reading. I may not take on board all her advice - I'm not to keen on fermented food! - but I am slowly changing my diet and the way I eat and I am starting to feel the benefits.

Some good tips on where to begin.
I really enjoyed parts of this book, however some bits were a little preachy. I would recommend this as a self help book with some great ideas on how to make the first steps to a better, more healthy lifestyle. The idea that small steps make a big difference does come through.

New life
Great new way of looking at food and lifestyle that should be straight forward to follow. No expensive diet products, just good food.
