It IS large and heavy!
I wanted a larger version from this line, and bought the 12-1/2" size. Boy - it's big! It's also deep. I've had a couple other Circulon skillets for 4-5 years and they're still as good as new. This size comes with a glass lid, which fits very well. It is made of thick steel, with a heavy bottom. Yes, it's pricey, but it's reasonably priced for the size and quality of the pan. I recommend Circulon and would buy again.'

great a pan
own this pan for years, bought another in the store and bought this from Amazon for my son. I use this for everything, fry my meatballs, use it as a wok, make a focaccia chicken sandwich, chicken Milanese. basically everything and it wears well if you simply don't scratch it.

Very nice pan for induction
Looks super nice. Its pretty big so it is also pretty heavy. Cooks well on my induction cooktop. Bottom is quite wide so not exactly wok shaped but works well and the high sides come in handy.

Comparison with Hard-Anodized Aluminum
I have a similar deep fry pan from the Circulon Momentum collection, which is hard-anodized aluminum. I love it, but the exterior coating has been getting scraped away, so I figured I needed to try stainless steel instead. This is the closest model to a stainless steel version of the Momentum pan. This Espree pan is apparently discontinued by Circulon according to their representative, and they no longer sell it, but it happens to still be sold here at Amazon. So I took the opportunity to buy it, and here are my thoughts.Stainless Steel Exterior+ Don't have to worry about it getting scraped away.- Notably heavier, an issue which is compounded by the lack of any helper grip opposite the main handle.- Uneven heating. Stainless steel cookware is supposed to have aluminum cores or something to get even heating, and I guess this one doesn't have anything like that, which is a shame.Tapered Rim+ pouring contents out the edge of the pan is less likely to wind up going down the side.- The lid does not fit well at all. It slides around without fitting comfortably, which is irritating. The hard-anodized pan lid fits very nicely, I guess due to the rim not being tapered.Other Differences from the Momentum Pan= The handle has an exposed metal portion at the end, but thankfully it doesn't get hot at all, so it's not an issue.= This pan is labeled 12.5" while the Momentum pan is 12", but that's really just due to the tapered rim. The inside measure of the rim is actually the same for both pans.- The flat bottom of the interior is only 9" long compared to the Momentum's 10.5". I much prefer the greater surface to work with than the more sloped wok style, so it's unfortunate that only this more sloped style is available.
