Well if you've got a 929 top box and want something that looks like it belongs, this is the rack for you. Installation requires hex wrenches, a drill, and bits of a couple different sizes. I followed the very straight forward instructions and ran into a couple minor problems. Namely, you are to use the decorative "perforations" (for lack of a better term) on the top of the case as the guide holes, theoretically ensuring a perfectly centered rack. I drilled through the the exact perforations per the instructions and have observed that the rack is ever so slightly off center. So if you're mildly OCD this might not be the product for you. Secondly, and more importantly, all 4 included bolts are exactly the same length, when really the bolts that go on the rear of the rack really need to be just a little longer to compensate for the curvature of the top box as it tapers to the rear. If you buy this, I'd highly recommend a trip to the hardware store for a couple longer rear mounting bolts. I docked a star for its shortcomings but I really want to point out that this is an all American company selling quality luggage and accessories at a price well below its foreign competitors. You really cant go wrong with it so long as you don't mind a little tinkering. I love it. Perfect for strapping down a bedroll or another bag. Get your adventure on and ride safe!

I bought this rack to give me the capability to strap larger packages on my 929 top case. It's sturdy yet lightweight and nicely finished. However mounting the rack would have been much easier if the mounting screws were 1/4" longer. What should have been an easy 30 minute installation ended up taking 2 hours to finally get the screws mounted. If you purchase this, when installing just slightly attached all the screws, then go back and snug them all down. I've not had any issues with water leaking into my case after installation and it looks quite nice. This added a lot of functionality to the top case.

Easy to install, Clear directions. seems stable enough atop the top-case. I would suggest packing only light low profile items on this unless you plan on modifying the mounting hardware. I've backed mine up with nylock nuts and fender washers to ensure it won't fly off with a load on it.
