Rotring 30269 Freeway Rollerball Pen

Ok, let's make a few people mad, shall we? This is a great pen and I have had no problem with it over the last 2 years. The cartridge that came with the pen was not dried up. More of just a bad cartridge to start with! Here is my suggestion for a cartridge that you can buy on-line and that will make this pen write like a million bucks...Go buy a SCHNEIDER TopBall 850, 0.5 mm Nib/tip, Here is the UPC # 40 o4675 08501 6. These are fantastic rollerball cartridges that are made in Germany. Buy the black Gel Ink cartridge, not the blue or blue/black. There you go, problem solved! While there are many ink cartridge manufacturer's, this cartridge is my top choice for a smooth writing experience. You won't be disappointed!!!

Expect the pen to be dry- I don’t know why - bad quality from seller I would say. No case like picture but I don’t care. It takes a Schmidt 888 refill which is easy to find and not terribly expensive considering the pen. It fits fine just keep screwing it together and boom you have a $10 pen you payed $18 for. Want a better pen? Get a Ohto Liberty rollerball - smooth like butter.

As with most other reviews, the pen looks and feels great...but sadly, arrived with the ink dried up. I tried to purchase replacements, but the ones I got did not fit. Seems the refills are no longer available. YAY, that was $29 well spent...NOT!

The pen arrived promptly, and, as with nearly all Rotring products, it projects a very attractive style and appearance. I was most anxious to put the roller ball into action until it was learned that the refill was bone dry. To add just a bit of fuel to the fire of disappointment, I soon discovered that refills for this model are unavailable. Please accept my word, as I looked everywhere and came up wanting. In a nutshell, the Freeway is a wonderful pen. My chainsaw is a terrific tool. Sadly, neither works!

On Amazon, I got myself a pack of Schneider Topball 850 rollerball refills. They work just fine in mine.Good luck.

Sketchy quality. This is a passable EDC pen, but it simply doesn't demonstrate the same level of quality of the Freeway pen I owned--and lost--years ago. It'll do for everyday, but rOtring quality is not what it once was. Biggest complaint? A rather scratchy and ill-fitting click pen cap. My original, which I owned sometime around 2000 was like butter. This one is like butter too--mixed with gravel. I miss the old rOtring. BTW, this pen is made in China. Now I don't have any problem with that--lots of good stuff is made in China--just not this pen.

My pen arrived promptly. It looks and feels great. Like other reviews, the pen was dry. The seller, Lakeshore Gifts, was indifferent. I would buy the pen again but never from this seller.
