Can I use this to train my kitten to stay off the dining table and countertops?

Yes, when you are in the kitchen, for example, cooking or eating, the goal is to teach your kitten to stay at their parking spot. Using our mat training exercise, train your kitten to "park" at their designated place where they earn rewards. When you aren't in the kitchen, ensure there is nothing on the counter to reinforce the inappropriate behavior. If your kitten knows that they can earn treats at one parking spot, and nothing good happens in the other parking spot (the counter), you can reduce the incidence of counter-jumping with enough practice. Combine this training with management strategies; use a playpen and food puzzles to keep your kitten busy when you can't attend to them.

Does this kit also provide instructions for clicker training cats to wear and walk with harnesses?

Harness training is not in this guide because we don't use the clicker to teach the cat to be comfortable in the harness. The purpose of the clicker is to mark an action, like Sit.  We use a different process called desensitization and counter-conditioning for harness training, which you can see me doing in the video. These methods are used to change a cat's feelings about something they are scared of.  Once your cat is comfortable wearing the harness, you can use the clicker to teach them to walk forward, sit at the door, etc.

Question 4

I want to train my cat to stop peeing in the carpet and sofas. Can I teach her to stop doing that with the clicker?

Clicker training is not the right approach for resolving litter box issues. I recommend a veterinary visit to rule out health issues and a consult with a feline behaviourist.
