Pyle PITLBT20 Bluetooth Wireless Charging Retro Handset Phone For iPhone, iPad, Android, Blackberry (Discontinued by Manufacturer)

I bought this Bluetooth handset from Amazon and tested it extensively with a Nokia smartphone. The bottom line is that I am using it and finding it to be much more convenient and less tedious to use than the smartphone by itself. I had no problems setting it up.The smartphone sits dark off in the corner. When it rings you push the button on the handset to answer the call without having to touch the smartphone. You push the button a second time when it is time to hang up. It works just fine 30 feet away--as advertised. You can carry it around the house and don't need to run back to the smart phone to pick-up/hang-up (but you still have to dial from the smartphone). The listening volume is adjusted at the smartphone but I hardly ever need to adjust it.The single button control is very simple and intuitive. Other Bluetooth handsets I have studied have too many controls. The wireless charging when on the base is very nice. It takes over an hour for the first charge but is not an issue afterwards. The charging state is indicated by a steady versus occasionally blinking light.An added feature that also works: if you push the button when no call is coming in then it activates speech recognition software that comes with the smartphone. You can sit 30 feet from the smartphone and place a call by voice.Pyle has done a nice job engineering this product but there are a few issues they should address with the next generation product:1. The sound in the ear piece is quite clear but the sound on the other end is slightly distorted. It is still clearer than the speaker-phone mode on the smartphone but could be better.2. The receiver sounds clear but you don't hear your own voice like with a conventional landline handset. It always makes you wonder if they can hear you on the other end. Just a little voice sound would be reassuring.3. The blue light inside the control button, although I would not call it really bright, can be a bit distracting when you are working at the desk. It flashed occasionally indicating charging. Both the blue light and the red light on the base should be only as bright as needed to be visible. I ended up using a sharpie pen to darken them both.But despite these issues, this product is a useful addition to the home office and is much more convenient that the smartphone by itself.

works - connects easily - but as with many bluetooth devices many of my calls I am told I sound like I'm in an echo chamber. The sound however is great so if I'm listening I hear clear voices and no distortion.

This phone is terrible. You must be in the same room as your cell phone at all times for it to work at all. Even then, the voice quality is terrible. Also, the hang up button is right where you want to rest your shoulder so it hangs up calls all the time. We are returning it.

This brings back some nostalgic value with a twist of bluetooth technology. I would suggest holding it down white button for a full 10 seconds to make the devices Discovered. The Feel of the products is well made, and the customer service was fantastic. I had to get a second device sent to me, due to a charger missing, but the product works fantastic. You can use just about any microusb charger for this device also. Clarity seems to be very well on both sides from the calls placed. I would recommend this device for anyone that doesn't want to hold the phone up to your face for long periods of time, it feels right at home.

The phone chassis is very comfortable and the wireless charging mechanism is very nice. It also looks really cool. Two things I do not like: (1) the blue light that you can see in the product picture is actually the "hang up" button. It is the absolute worst place for that button because if you hold the phone like I do (the normal way I assume every human with adult sized hands and five fingers would hold such a phone) you are inevitably going to push the very sensitive button by mistake and hang up on the person you are talking to. This issue has made me reconsider if I will even continue using the phone or just toss it in a drawer. I hang up on someone about every four or five calls when I accidentally bump the button.(2) you cannot hear your voice in the phone speaker. This is the only bluetooth hand set I have ever used, so maybe they are all like this, but it is mildly distracting to me that I can't hear my own voice in the speaker while I am talking. The phone feels "dead" and not like a normal desktop phone.

So far the gift has been working well... I only have one complaint. I wish that every time I entered my house that the Bluetooth receiver would atomically connect. Instead when ever I receive a call or make a call I have to choose the Bluetooth receiver.

The unit looks and feels great. Connection worked perfectly although reconnection was not automatic. Don't know why but didn't go through trouble to find out why because the unit's voice quality was terrible. The first 3 callers told me that they could not hear me clearly although I had no trouble hearing them. Two claimed they heard a loud "wooshing" noise and thought I was in the gym working out.It's unfortunate because I had high hopes.

Got this for my dad, it works good. It does not work as well as the corded ones; but the freedom of not being connected to your cell phone is a nice trade off for the sometimes poor call quality and sound volume levels.
