Fits perfectly! Hides my tummy, accentuates my chest
I'm 5'9, 215 lbs. 1x fits perfectly! I carry most of that in my belly. This dress is literally perfect! Yes, it's completely stretchy. I bought the black dress, and the red shirt. I tend to change the ribbon depending on the occasion. I used red ribbon on the black dress for the front corset part, then tied a few on each of the back strings. Added a pirate hat, perfect for ren fest pirate weekend. Changed the ribbons back to black ones for a casual wedding reception. So many compliments!I like the red top with black leggings or jeans, changed the ribbons to black on that one as I felt the red ribbon was too bright. Anyways, as a big girl, this fits perfectly! I'm not used to getting compliments anymore, as I'm way bigger than I used to be. But I always get them when I wear either one!Seriously give them a shot! You can always return them. I'd say wear a supportive bra underneath, find a complimentary necklace (something not too dainty), and don't tie the ties too tight. No, this isn't an actual corset, so you do need to wear the appropriate undergarments.I just love that attention is directed towards my chest and necklace, and away from my belly.Just wanted to add, when I bought the dress, it got lost in shipping and arrived days late, after I'd already left for my trip. This was absolutely the shipper's fault, not the seller. By the time I got around to trying it on, finding out it was a size too large, and wanting to return it, I was 2 days outside of the return window. I took a chance and emailed the company. They were absolutely wonderful! They shipped me the right size before I'd even gotten my return in the mailbox! Was really nice to deal with a company that cared, and were more interested in me getting what I needed, rather than just taking my money and saying, Tough Luck! Very impressed!Definitely take a chance! I'm super happy with both products, and I can't wait to buy more!

Perfect Maternity Dress
Worked out wonderfully for our medieval/little prince baby shower at 8 months pregnant. I also bought the top and wore that to medieval times while pregnant and it was also perfect. The length on both really helps!

Worked for what I needed
Wore as part of my Halloween costume. I would have liked the back to have more stretch.

Not quite as pictured, but still looks good
I was really looking forward to this dress and while I like it, it's not as great as it could be. First, and my biggest issue, is that the hem line in the dress pictured is NOT what you get. The hemline on the dress I received is even all the way across while the picture makes it look like an uneven line - longer in the front and possibly in the back, but shorter on the sides. The fabric is the same fabric used in each of the other Dare items I've purchased. I don't love it's extreme stretch, but it can be helpful in fitting a variety of body shapes. The pattern is as pictured, with saturated colors and quite pretty. Follow the sizing chart they provide (not Amazon's default chart) and size according to bust. I left the ribbon and corseting in the front completely loose (it should really be under the bust to act as a corset) and took up any excess fabric via the tie in the back. The neckline and sleeves are exactly as pictured.I'm glad I got it and I'm going to keep it. I appreciate that it's made in the US and so it will cost more, but the pictures should show the product accurately, especially when selling an item that's a bit pricier.

Gorgeous and Super Comfy!
THANK YOU DARE FASHION for making all my witchy dreams come true. This dress is comfy and adorable!I ordered a size 1X. I'm 5'5, bra size 36D and at least before the holiday I was around 165lbs. DEFINITELY make sure your bust size is correct because everything below the waist flares out, but the chest area is fitted. I think I possibly could have sized down just because it fits my bust nicely but my shoulders are relatively narrow, so the neckline feels wide on me. However, IMO it's better to go too big than too small. There is a lacey waist cincher just below the bust (I mention this because in one of the model photos she doesn't have it for some reason - I assure you it's there!!!) but the material is stretchy, soft, and comfortable. Sleeves are indeed both flowy and witchy. The skirt comes down to my knees. Finally, I can't believe how fast this showed up. I ordered Dec. 28th and it was on my doorstep the 30th. Overall, I'm incredibly happy with both the product and service. It's worth the money to buy quality work from an American manufacturer. Will definitely be making more purchases from them!

Perfect Fit! Super flattering!
Other than the fact that I think the price is just a bit on the high side, I don't have anything bad to say about this dress. It shipped incredibly fast, and came without any problems. Some other reviewers are saying the fabric is too thin-- I can't vouch for the other colors seeing as I selected the "Midnight" one, but there is nothing wrong with this fabric-- it's quite robust, stretchy, and drapes very nicely. The only way I could see it being too see-through would be if the dress was too tight and you had to stretch it to stay on. I ordered the 2x and that is my normal size from most retailers, it fits perfectly, sliding right on, but is not stretching out anywhere nor is it sagging anywhere. My measurements are 44", 40", 50", if that helps.I wore it when I went to go help do makeup for a friend's film, and upon doing makeup, was told I could ride the horses there for the shoot (I didn't even know there would be horses there!) Needless to say, this dress survived without a snag, as I rode a galloping horse across a field for the first time.I also wore the dress to church the next day and received tons of compliments on it. It's beautiful and has that vicorian gothic look without being over-the-top.Love it, love it, LOVE it, and I will definitely be purchasing more Dare to Wear Victorian clothing in the future!!

Really nice but cheap scratchy material
I love this tunic. It is very flattering for someone who carries their weight in the belly. Beautiful look with a full skirt under it. But be aware that the material that is cheap and a bit scratchy. If you have real sensitive skin or need something that will last real long, it might not be the best. Also get at least one size larger.
