. Review: Their best - This album is a classic and it's still a 10/10 Review: This album is pure raw emotion, aggressive, and in-your-face. - Rage Against the Machine by Rage Against the Machine is as powerful and relevant now as it was when it was released. This album is pure raw emotion and intensity. The anger, passion, and urgency in the music feel timeless, and the message hasn’t lost any of its bite. Songs like “Killing in the Name” still hit incredibly hard — it honestly feels like it could have been written today. Every track is charged with purpose, combining heavy riffs, explosive rhythms, and confrontational lyrics that demand attention. Even if you didn’t grow up listening to Rage, this album still connects because the themes are universal and unfortunately ongoing. This pressing sounds great and captures the aggressive, in-your-face energy the album is known for. Loud, dynamic, and unapologetic, it’s meant to be played with some volume. A must-have album. Whether you’re a longtime fan or discovering Rage for the first time, this record absolutely belongs in any serious vinyl collection.

Making a stand
For the longest time, I was not really interested in Rage Against The Machine, seeing as I have never really been into anything that is more rap/hip-hop influenced, but I gave in and bought this album to give it a try, seeing as so many people were telling me how great these guys are. After listening to it multiple times through, I have to say that they were right. Everything about them, from Zack De LaRocha's aggressive tonality with the lyrics to the trio of instruments working together as a layered team, is simply amazing. Akin to some of my other reviews, there is not much I can say that has not already been said by other reviewers. I very much agree that the lyrics, while full of blunt and pure anger, are very passionate and well-written in the sense that they actually stand for something. I have always liked to describe these guys as a 1990s Rap/Rock version of The Clash, in terms of the politically-driven meaning of their lyrics. Also, I do not tie these guys into the trend-laden nu-metal scene. RATM are their own act entirely, and they are truly original in their ways. Regarding the instumentation, I can say that the bass guitar, wielded by the mighty Tim Commerford, is the part that really stands out the most, and that is something that cannot really be said for too many other bands out there. His licks just blow me away every single time I put this album on. What I also love about RATM is, despite the fact that they are strongly hip-hop oriented, they never make use of DJs, drum machines, turntables or any of that other computerized wankery, unlike others such as Linkin Park or Skipknot. RATM compose their music with 100% REAL INSTRUMENTS - PROPS to them for that! All in all, if you like a good rap/rock combo that takes an aggressive political stand, then please do not hesitate to pick up this album without delay. It is a classic, no matter which way you look at it!

Killer Funk Metal Riffs!
4 Stars = Classic Rage Against the Machine enjoyed a respectable following in the 90's. They were apart of the funk/metal/rap movement that included Red Hot Chili Peppers , Living Colour,(though they were not straight rap) Beastie Boys, Scatterbrain, etc. Rage Against the Machine's sound was one of monster funk /metal riffs, especially on their first album "ST". Some say or think the Chili Peppers had a big influence on them, but I believe it was the granddaddy of funk/metal, Pat Travers, who was a major direct or indirect influence on many of these acts. Listening to the killer riffs on Rage Against the Machine "ST" has Pat Travers written all over them (maybe more than other 90's bands) from his 70's hey day (for those of you who don't know Pat & are interested, pick up "Putting it Straight, Heat in the Street" "Making Magic" "Go For What You Know"). So as I'm a big fan of Travers you could expect me to fancy this album "ST," & I do, but one thing that knocks it down a notch for me is all the angry rapping. I'm not saying that Tom Morrello & Zack de la Rochado do not have legitimate grips about the world all around us, but 100% anger is overkill, though it does lend authority to these songs. Maybe I'm old fashioned, but growing up in the 70's, rapping is not my thing. I'll take singing every time, but I do like this album, how couldn't I? All the killer funk/metal done in great style, even a nod to the mighty Led Zep's "Kashmir" on "Wake Up," the outstanding track on this CD, also the closing credits song on the first "Matrix" film. If you have a major funk metal jones like me, you could do much worse than picking up Rage Against the Machine "ST"!

Obra maestra. Trabajo que marco una generación. La creación de un nuevo estilo, una mezcla entre Funk, Rock y mensaje político. Espectacular. Buen sonido y gran precio.

Nothing need to be said about the album itself other than it's a classic everyone should have in their collection. I got the 2017 European repress of the album and it sounds fantastic. No complains.

Stampa ottima per un album che ha sconvolto i suoi tempi. innovativi, aggressivi, impegnati, tosti, questi sono i RATM!
