like all Grohe products is a quality item
This product, like all Grohe products is a quality item. It looks and performs as expected. The pressure equalization feature works incredibly. No more temperature changes due to a flushed toilet. Would definitely buy it again.

Almost perfect! Works really
Almost perfect! Works really, really good, better than pressure balanced ones which do not have a temp adjustment. You can flush the toilet right next to the shower and the temp of the water in the shower will not change one bit.......priceless!BTW, the lever controls the output AND direction...meaning... turn it left to send water to the shower head. Turn it right, it sends water to the hand shower. Depending upon how much you turn it, it will send more or less water. The center knob controls the water temp...the preset of 100F is absolutely perfect for 3 members of our family...fourth one wants it a little more hot, which is easily done by pressing the little button at the top and turning it left. When others want to take a shower, we just turn it to the center, which has a positive detent....so no more fiddling with the temp again!A couple of minor gripes:1. The center position (down position) is off. It can be a little hard to find at first. But you get used to it. Maybe they could make a more positive clicking mechanism.2. The control range for the showerhead is much much less than what you get for the hand shower....this is probably by design and actually works very well....but it is there, fyi. Frankly, you do not need to control the flow out of the showerhead that much.3. The shiny plate is plastic. At this price I was expecting metal.Remember to buy the rough in box!.

Don't buy...very leaky...hard to find off position
Very frustrating product. I have two Grohe showers which use this control system. I have tried five different cartridges of this model--each from different sellers--and only one has worked properly without constantly leaking. The problem is the valve shutoff. In theory, it's suppose to be at the 6:00 position, but there's very little stop feeling so the valve never knows when it's completely off. The result? Shower leaks from either the overhead or removable head...constantly. Drip, drip, drip. Have tried to trouble shoot and get replacement parts, but don't want to spend any more time or money to get plumbers to look at this. If there's another solution to this, I'm all ears. But would not buy this shower system again.

Otherwise it looks good and functions very well
My only complaint is the plastic faceplate and spacer. Can't it be made of aluminum or some other metal? Otherwise it looks good and functions very well. Very easy installation if the rough in valve is installed correctly. I like how easy it is to adjust the highest temperature setting.

We've installed this and so far it's working well. I wish I had spent a little more time reading the reviews. The fact that it is really hard to find the place where it shuts off is very annoying. There should be a more substantial "click" when it settles into that spot. It's very easy to leave on and have water unnoticeably dribbling out - which will be noticed the next day when the shower is all wet. This is in our weekend home, so it will be bad if it's left on and unnoticed for weeks at a time. Especially since it's in a bathroom used mostly by guests. We plan to mark the shutoff spot with a sharpie.Otherwise, seems to work fine.
