Box of 20 Traditional Trouees Dripless Candles by Bougies La Fran?aise

For years I have been trying unsuccessfully to locate these amazing candles. What sets them apart is they have little hollow channels the wax drips into, so that it doesn't drip onto everything. Even with both paper and glass bobeches, my Colonial candles dripped. These don't. Well, let me re-phrase: hardly ever. Once there was a strong breeze from the patio and a tiny bit of wax dripped down the side, but basically the other reviewers are correct: because of the really inventive design, the wax 99% of the time goes INTO the candle and not ONTO the candle, or worse yet, onto your mantle or tablecloth. Yes, they are expensive, but not when you consider the time and effort required to clean dripping wax off candelabras. Now that I have found a reliable source, I will never buy any candles other than these. My only wish is that they came in ivory.UPDATE 11/14/2014: I recently found candle followers, so now strong breezes from our open windows or the air conditioner no longer cause even the tiniest bit of wax dripping. We love to use candles especially at dinner parties but also just when enjoying a festive dinner en familie. These candles are far and away the best ever. Because of their hollow drip core technology they don't drip. Occasionally if in a draft that seriously blows the flame to a side, you will have drip issues, but barring significant draft, these things burn log and bright and dripless. Only candles we buy. We get boxes of 20 and because they each burn several hours, one pair of candles will last us for 2 or 3 dinners.

We eat dinner in our dining room by candlelight every night. So, I needed a classic candle that I could buy a good number of at one time. These candles fit the bill perfectly. I needed a dripless, unscented white candle. Done. Our candelabra is an antique and has larger candle holders. Every single taper candle I found in stores was too small. I expected these to be too small also, but at least they were dripless. So, when I ordered them, I also ordered candle adhesive, to keep them upright. I did not need it! The thicker base was perfect. So, done and done!

No home should be without these candles. A little bit more money but worth it! They are not only really dripless but beautiful!

Honestly, I got these because of the beautiful French packaging. Loved the look, but they are just basic candles. They don't burn any cleaner or slower than others and the wide ridged base doesn't fit into most candleholders. You need to carve it down. Sadly they are style over substance-would not recommend.

These things cost a fortune but over hundreds of dinners at our house they absolutely positively have never dribbled!OK, that's an overstatement because the kids somehow managed to coax a drop of wax from a burning candle -- once. But seriously, they're the best candles we've had.An unscientific guess is that they burn for around four hours.My one beef is that the base is kinda large with lugs that bring the diameter to around 7/8". Fortunately the lugs can be shaved off with a sharp knife. The 13/16" diameter candle (it's probably metric, duh!) itself is pretty much straight sided.A box of these candles makes a terrific house warming or hostess gift if you're tired of the ol' bottle of wine or flowers gig.

Have been buying these for years. Only candles that don’t drip, ever. Haven’t found any other candle that’s as good as this! If you know if a better one, let me know,,as the cost is getting so expensive! $50. A box with shipping and tax.

I love these candles. My house is drafty, and normal candles tend to create a Dracula's castle effect by the end of the evening. These candles almost entirely eliminate that problem along with the endless cleanup. Maximum stars!
