Great upgrade from standard RV bathroom fans!
Purchased this fan to replace a working 2007 OEM bathroom vent/fan that was severely yellowed and wimpy in my recently acquired used travel trailer. Watched everything I could on installing and was prepared to tackle the project myself (above average handiness). Ran out of time before my appt to have a MaxxAir cover installed, so had the service center install for me. They charged a one hour labor fee for both to be installed, which I was thrilled to pay since it probably saved me several hours of scraping old sealant off! Anyhow, this fan is amazing compared to what I had. Different speeds, choice of air flow and just the sheer size of the fan blades compared to the old fan are awesome. It is actually less noisy than my old fan, and very effective at immediately sucking out the steam from a hot shower. With the MaxxAir cover I also added, I get great air circulation no matter the weather now! I do not mind not having a remote as even my rear slide is manually operated. This is perhaps the best immediate upgrade I made to my getaway toy, and I am already lookin at having another installed in place of my standard vent in the kitchen area. I decided on this fan specifically because I wanted to add MaxxAir covers installed over my vents. Glad I did!

Best upgrade I ever made on my camper
Best upgrade I ever made on my camper. Very quite thru the medium settings. My wife likes noise to sleep to so we use it in ceiling fan mode often on high. I replaced my std battery with two SAMs club golf cart batteries. In the spring and the fall I put on auto feature set at 72F and battery lasts up to 4weeks before draining to half charge. Lasts a few days in summer. I ran for 4 days on high setting testing in yard before half battery. Moves air well when following directions. Usually open full window on other end of camper lower bunk and draws a nice breeze. Only regret is I didn't get model with remote. Would be nice not to have to get out of bed to change the setting. I use it with max air II cover. May hinder air flow a little but works fine. max air says it can be used with it prefers fanmate cover. Really easy to install. Less than two hours to take out old vent and replace and hook up

double arms make it very strong and not likely to blow off
I had problems, 3 times, a fantastic vent blew off my pop up camper. I finally installed this one and it works great! Very strong construction, 2 metal supports and a lock that does not break. It is very quiet at low speeds. Bought a second one.. This time my AC broke and did not want to buy another one, so I got this fan and had it installed at a dealer since I needed them to remove the AC. Only problem I had was they wanted to wire it into the solar line out from my panels, I said no, but they went ahead and did it. This fan did not work, because of voltage fluctuation. I saw another warning from a review on this fan here on Amazon about how a battery not producing a constant voltage caused a problem. We could not get through to their support so gotta thank the guy who cussed this fan out in great detail. It helped trouble shoot my problem. It went in good and once they connected 12 v line coming from the battery it worked as expected.

Works well. Big upgrade from stock unit.
I ordered this product and it was marked as delivered. Amazon refunded the money and I ordered it again. The second time was the charm and it arrived quickly and undamaged. Thank you Amazon for that. I recommend reading the instructuons and looking at instructional videos on youtube. Butyl tape and self leveling Dicor caulk is needed for instlation but is not mentioned in the listing. I tested the fan before installation to ensure its operation as it would be difficult to remove for return. I did this in response to some reviewers who reported that the fan did not work properly out of the box. The instructions were easy to follow and the unit went in as expected. I used the inside trim from the old fan to measure and mark off the new trim to ensure correct fit. This unit is a big upgrade from the very small exhaust fan that came as origional on my RV. It moves plenty air and can be reversed. It also can be cleaned from the inside. The original fan could only be cleaned from the roof. Overall i am pleased with the results. Only one star for the remote because I did not purchase that feature. I would buy this again.

EDIT,, IT QUIT a month later now it beeps 10 Times and wont restart, , the last one i had worked ok
EDIT: EVEN 1 star is Too much!! I DO NOT Recommend this fan to anyone , I dont care how many good rev there is!! EDIT ,, QUIT a few uses later had it running one eve. and next morning it wont restart, BEEPS ANNOYINGLY 10 TIMES, ( WHY 10 Times aint 4-5 Times Enough) and it wont restart, Bad circuit board!! Tried to just get another from Amazon and Switch boards and use it for spare parts, Low and behold its BAD ALSO does the same thing BEEPs 10 Times and wont run, Another bad circut board Voltage in RV is 12.8-13.2 at any time. Apparently the Board is bad, Called Amazon , they gave me a contact # for the MFR , it was wrong dept and part of the Company, got another # it was wrong people, Finally waited on hold for 55 minutes no tech help, Left a message got a call back. 6 hrs later and the AC guy said its a bad control board, he said he will send me a board, A WEEK LATER and Board is still not here, What the heck, Terrible place to deal with, they should have shipped it 1-2 Days its a $200 Fan. And we go camping in 6 days , been trying to remedy this for a month. Last night i unhooked the Temp Sensor, and it started working, but this AM it wont work AGAIN. I tried a single fully charged 12 volt battery in my garage and it works intermittingly, But with same battery isolated from my RV system it Alarms and wont work. IF a fan that is designed and made for a RV does not tolerate the dirty 12 volts in a RV what good is it, It should run on 12.9 voltsThey obviously have some BIG batches of BAD Circuit boards out there. So I got a BUCK converter Voltage This one : Buck Boost Voltage Regulator, DROK DC 6-30V to DC 0.5-30V 5V 12V 24V Adjustable Voltage Converter, 4A 60W Power Supply Step Up Down Transformer Board Module with USB Port Case LCD Display Volt Amp. It did not work with that either!! What a big waste of my important time.. I DO NOT Recommend this fan to anyone , I dont care how many good rev there is!! Original reveiw.:I like the fine tuning ability of the 10 Speeds , you can dial in yor temp and airflow to what suits you . We go many camping trips with no AC now. And being 12 Volt DC you don't need 120 VAC current or hookups to run it. So boondocking is very VERY nice with this. It is so quiet you don't even know its on when 1-2-2-3-4 speed settings., Low current draw its not hard on a GOOD battery. POLARITY does matter with this fan which got me at first, MOST 12 VDC equip does not care about + - polarity , but these controls do. So check it for operation before closing up panels and wires etc, in case.. if it does not work at first reverse the wires. I put it in Bath of Jayco 154BH TR Trlr replace the little TINY, i mean TINY worthless pretendah fan that came in it

Really enjoy these fans
Iโve got two of these in my RV and theyโve been amazing. They move a lot of air, and make a bit of noise on the higher levels, theyโre nearly silent at low speeds. They are true PWM speed controlled too so when they use very little power on lower settings. Some cheaper units use a resistor to make the motor run slower but still use a ton of power at any speed. Not these. They use power that is proportional to the speed youโre running them. So around .5 a watt on super slow and maybe 10 watts on high. Super low and leave a window open provides a nice flow with nearly no battery drain all night. Easy install and no issues or leaks with these. Highly recommended ๐๐ป

Better Than The Better Known Brand!
I have installed Fan-tastic fans on RV's for years. This time around I thought I would try the lesser known Maxxair fan. What a pleasant surprise! Significantly less expensive than the comparable Fan-tastic fan, 10 forward and reverse speeds and the ability to run the fan with the vent closed for interior air circulation. The controls are digital and easy to operate. The fan is almost completely silent when used at speeds 5 and below, getting louder as speeds increase but never to the point of being irritating. The integral thermostat is accurate and shuts the fan off at the selected temperature. Installation is identical to the Fan-tastic Fan - not difficult but time consuming to remove the sealant from the fan being replaced and the RV's roof. For those of you who are aware of the forthcoming Zombie Squirrel Acropolis, this vent locks from the inside providing another level of protection from the zombie squirrels.

It worked for two days, then suddenly the circuit board failed. It wont turn off.
I purchased this fan for my Class B, it worked for two days. The next day, it turned on by itself and never stopped. I had a technician look at it, turned out the circuit board went bad and needed to be replaced for 50$ approximately. I can't return the item sadly cus it has been installed already. I managed to buy it for half price, no one wonder why it happened.

Stopped working in a month
Product looks great, and worked well for about a month, until something changed. Now when I turn it on, the fan starts spinning for a few seconds before it stops and the machine starts beeping loudly for a minute. I've read all the troubleshooting suggestions on the internet and tried multiple things to reset and fix it, but nothing has worked. I didn't do anything to effect the fan or circuit board in any way. I believe the circuit board needs to be replaced which I have contacted Maxxair about, but I'm not optimistic since I ordered it through Amazon. Take caution. Once you cut the hole in the roof and install the fan, you want to be sure it works! Having an opening in the ceiling isn't that bad, but I could have done it much cheaper myself.

Brings air in and out!!
Was a great replacement for our other fan. What we really wanted was a fan that would suck air out but also bring fresh air in!! There are also 10 speeds which we probably donโt need but it is a great option! Very quiet on the low speeds!
