Just unpack, activate the batteries, insert the dongle and the keyboard and mouse are instantly operational.

These did not come with the unifying receivers. No red star on the USB and did not work with the unifying software. They are being returned.

A long-range keyboard is important to me because my laptop is connected to my TV about 4 feet away. As I type this, I have the keyboard sitting 2 feet away from my laptop, pointed directly at the USB dongle with no obstructions. This is the furthest I can get it from the laptop where it still works. I have to sit on the coffee table with the keyboard on my lap to get it to work. The lying admen at logitech claim it is good up to 3 meters ( ~9 feet) away. Not a chance! I can't even get 3 feet away, much less 9 feet. And this is with new batteries, not the ones shipped with the device. The mouse is only good about 4 feet away. After that, it starts jumping around erratically. Don't trust the specs claimed on Amazon. They aren't even close to truthful.

I am happy with the distance it offers between the computer and keyboard and mouse.

I bought this combo as a replacement to an identical combo I got....13 years ago! Was glad to keep the same layout.

I bought this specifically said it had the NEW Unifiying Receiver Technology.It will not connect.

The keyboard are as nice as you would expect from Logitech, but the range isn't the 10 meters advertised here. That's almost 33 feet this is supposed to reach and mine loses connection at about 15 feet.
