Klein Tools 11054 Wire Stripper and Cutter for 8-16 AWG Solid and 10-18 AWG Stranded Wire with Closing Lock

These are by far the best wire strippers I've ever used. They're well made, sturdy, and have clearly marked numbers to make common wiring jobs idiot proof. Though the numbers do fade over time, hopefully you'll have used them enough by then that you just know which holes are for which gauge wires.

I have some thick 12 gauge stranded copper high end stereo speaker wirewhich I needed to cut and strip when installing my stereo speakers.Previously, I used the very time consuming method of scoring the plasticwire sheath with a razor and pulling it off... but this is very time consuming,and in spite of my extreme care, I would always seem to cut through at leasttwo or three of the tiny strands of copper wire.With this Klein Tools wire stripper, all I had to do was align the 12 gauge wirewith the hole marked "12" on the right side marked "AWG STRANDED"(which is the same hole that is also marked "10" on the left side marked"AWG SOLID"), and then press down, and twists back and forth a bit,at an angle, pulling forward to push the scored / cut sheath away.It takes just a little practice to get the right feel for it, and a bit of forceis required to tug the scored / cut sheath off, but it is not difficult.Most importantly, not only is this much faster than manual scoring and pulling,but the results are better: not a single stranded copper wire was cut inthe process, even though some firm twisting and tugged was implementedto remove the wire's plastic insulated outer sheath. Very impressive.This tool seems a bit more expensive than it should be, but the price doesreflect the quality of its construction.

It's a well-made tool, replacing the same one I've had for years. Never really get used to the lock catching while in use, but that's really the only complaint.

Klein already has a good name in the tool business so not much to say there except this is a very useful tool for electrical work, won't fail you, will last a lifetime and by "coincidence" Made in the U.S.A.

These are a great pair of strippers. They work well. They are sharp!

Looking forward to using this to replace lost ones. But, wasn't thrilled with its condition upon arrival as paid for what we thought was new. Not sure if you can see the brown smudges in the photo. But, it will work. Nothing wrong with what matters and it will get dirty anyway.

Love these strippers. They hold up to the klein name which not all of their products do. I can strip #10 stranded with them which Is nice. The curved handle is comfy. Can't beat the price either. I would highly recommend

I had been using an automatic stripper for years. It was fast but started taking chunks out of the wires which became a problem when I was tapping existing wires in a house.This stripper is a bit pricier but works perfectly every time for 12 and 14 gauge wires common in household wiring. No accidental damage to the conductors.

Muchas veces uno se va con la marca al comprar herramientas, y este caso no es la excepción, más debo admitir que las pinzas son excelentes, ya había tenido unas pinzas pelacables de la misma marca pero con otro diseño, y este es aún mejor. Altamente recomendable siempre y cuando se encuentre en oferta pues el precio regular si es alto.

Klien always has great products I've been an electrician for over 10 years and all my tools are Klien because they are of such good quality. The reason I keep buying these tools isn't that they fail it is because I keep losing them!

An older guy on my street has had a pair of these for 35+ years and recommended them. I can see why, wonderful quality. Definitely worth paying for, nicely made in USA.
