I am currently six months pregnant and have a ten month old baby (I know, what was i thinking?) and just ordered my second mat. It is uncomfortable for me to sit for long periods on the floor but with the snug square it makes it so much better. This mat allows me to spend more time on the floor with my baby! Since we will soon have two, mats and babies, we plan to build a large play pen (i love pinterest). The size of the mats are perfect and two side by side will make the perfect rectangle and large play area for my babies. Another plus for this plan is that the pen will keep the dogs off the mats, as they have decided they were purchased for them. If you have dogs, beware- they will love it too. Just a side note, my bassett/rhodegian ridgeback mix who eats everything (which is why i was against purchasing the thin rubber mats) has not even chewed on this.A note about the company, Baby Mushroom: When i first started looking for mats, I found pictures of the tan and brown mat but couldn't find it to buy, only the pink and slate option. I went ahead and emailed the company to ask about the different color. I was emailed back within the hour letting me know the tan was on back order, but she would notify me when the shipment arrived. I went ahead and ordered the pink because I needed something right then but cannot tell you how much I appreciated the quick response. Since that time, I have been sent a few emails from the owner of the company following up. Which is why my second order was just placed as the next shipment arrived, wanted to get one before they were gone!!!! Snug Square Baby Play Mat - Large, Comfortable, Luxurious Baby and Kids Play Mat (Cream-Espresso Special Edition):We were previously using an old memory foam mattress topper (size Queen) that we no longer needed to provide a padded play area in our living room (mainly so our then-toddler daughter could do somersaults more comfortably). I hated that the blanket we had over it never stayed tight. And I also hated that it was really heavy and cumbersome to move around (to vacuum around).This play mat is great, but doesn't provide quite as much cushion as the mattress topper did. I love the neutral color. I haven't needed to remove the cover to wash it yet, but I do like that it is removable and has the waterproof liner included. It is super lightweight as well which makes moving it a breeze. The smaller size works for the 3 of us (4 year old, mom & Dad) to sit and play games, but I think once our baby is older it will be may be a tad too small for everyone to comfortably sit and still have room in the middle for the games. Kind of pricey, but I see us keeping this to use for years as the kids grow up (or until we can afford to replace our carpet and put in quality padding!). Over all I'm pleased with our purchase

The Snug Square Play Mat is ideal for those babies that are just learning to sit or crawl, it provides enough cushion to ensure their falls are met with giggles rather than tears. The cover is incredibly soft and the foam provides a comfortable space for tummy time, a nap, or play. The size is ideal as it is compact enough to take anywhere but big enough that an adult can sit comfortably when playing with baby. Velcro straps on one side make travel easy - we roll ours up and lay it across the floor in the backseat of the car.Doing business with Baby Mushroom was a pleasure. After a couple of months I noticed the cover coming apart at a seam - seemed a little odd for such an otherwise high quality product. I reached out to the seller, Baby Mushroom, and explained that I think our cover had a manufacturing defect. The customer service rep was kind and quick to send us a replacement cover at no charge. The replacement arrived today with a handwritten note from the rep apologizing again for the defect. I'm blown away by the care that Baby Mushroom exhibits toward their customers! Not only do I highly recommend this product but I recommend the company as well.Also - be sure to get the waterproof cover. Sold separately but absolutely worth the cost. It makes changing out the fabric cover a breeze and I don't have to worry about baby's spills reaching the inner foam.

This has been a great solution for my daughter's play area. She falls a lot because she gets very excited reaching for things, etc., and none of the other mats we have tried are soft enough for her to hit her head on. This one is thick and very soft/pillowy, so I feel comfortable that she won't hurt herself if she bumps her head on the floor. We have tile and hardwood throughout the house, so this was very important to us. My only complaint is that the waterproof cover is sold separately. (I think any baby product should have the waterproof part built right in.) Also, the waterproof cover is just for the inner foam, not to protect the outer fabric. I would have preferred that the entire thing be waterproof. Even if it wasn't as soft/silky feeling, at least it would still be pillowy enough for the baby to fall on. Also, I would love to see a larger size. But I give this product 4 stars because we searched far and wide for a mat that was thick and cushiony enough for her head, and this is the ONLY one I've seen that fits the bill. Plus, the maker of this product is a small mom-owned business, and customer service has been fantastic. The owner corresponds directly with you and you can tell she truly cares about keeping happy customers, which I appreciate.
