Excellent quality product - VERY LOUD
We have tried many different products to locate our 3-year-old if she runs off while we're at Walmart, etc. We mostly wanted something that would beep loudly so that we could find her right away. We tried 2 other products very similar to this one - one was the Toddler Tag by Brickhouse Security (it stopped working within a few months & when we contacted the company they wouldn't do anything for us because it was "out of warranty" - a battery change did not fix it) and another was Giggle Bug Toddler Tracker (which was even crummier..it stopped working within a couple weeks..just made a loud beeping noise that would never stop). So far we have used Mommy I'm Here a handful of times and it is working perfectly. The noise it makes is VERY loud - almost embarrassingly loud - which is a good thing. We just strap it around our daughter's ankle with the enclosed Velcro strap, and it never seems to bother her and she hasn't tried taking it off. We affectionately call it her "ankle bracelet" (lol). To activate it, all you do is turn the switch on the bear to "on," then press the button on the transmitter until you hear a couple beeps. Now, when you want to find your little one, just hit the button on the transmitter and it will immediately emit a very loud beep (I believe 3 times) before going off on its own. At that point, you can press the button again if you'd like, until the child is located. We always keep our little one close, but sometimes you never know when they'll dart off & hide in the middle of all those clothing racks. You can panic a little less knowing you have this bear strapped on and will be able to locate them in a heartbeat.

For the Price, It Can't be Beat...
I bought this for my almost 2 year old son for a recent trip to Disney. It was a great purchase! Luckily we never needed to use it due to him being lost, but I used it as a way to alert my son. We stay at the Ft. Wilderness campground, and whenever he'd play at the beach there or the playscape, he would tend to wander away from the other kids. I always kept him in my sight, but I'd set this little bear off to let him know to stop...it worked great! He'd wear it on his shoe (anything with laces or velcro, we used it in velcro), and anytime the bear made it's high pitch whine, he'd stop, look at his shoe, look for me, then come running back to the rest of the group instead of continuing to wonder away...it was perfect!I don't know how helpful this would be in a real crowded place (like a theme park) since there's so much other stuff going on. I think hearing this would be difficult if your child wondered too far off, but it's perfect if you're taking your toddler shopping with you. In a store or park this would be very easy to hear, not to mention that anyone near your child will hear it as well. I purchased extra batteries to have just in case it arrived with dead ones (I read in some other reviews that that can happen), but so far I haven't needed them. Overall, I ABSOLUTELY recommend this. At this price, you really can't go wrong. You still need to pay attention to where your child is, but this is a bit of added security should they sneak away on you.

Not bad with some issues....
Bought this for use with my 3 year old son. We are traveling to Buenos Aires for a visit with my wife's family and some tourism. My wife and I keep our son under careful watch constantly but it is always good to have a backup just in case we both have a brain freeze. The receiving unit is hard plastic and looks sturdy. The bear is realtively large (I thought it was going to be a little smaller and soft for some reason). Putting on a shoe or a belt adds some weight and is noticeable by the child. It has a hard plastic loop in the back of the bear. A belt can fit through it or presumably a velcro strap for a shoe. Laces would not work so well...and there is no other way to secure it to your child. I guess you could put it in a coat pocket or something like that. The range is decent. If your kid is beyond the range you should be arrested for being stupid and letting him get that far away from you.Two problems. The noise is pretty loud and piercing. Scared the you know what out of my kid. He is not good with noise and freaks at the daycare fire drills...so keep that in mind. But..a loud annoying noise is what you want..but be prepared. Also whoever designed the remote needs help. It is large..and bulky. Well made but big. The problem is the button. It is unprotected and can be accidently triggered if it is in your pants or purse and you or something whacks the button...and then you have a false alarm and in my case...a kid freaked out for no reason. I wish it had little ridges around it like some car remotes have...to reduce the number of accidental false alarms. Simple design change..For the price it does the job. Well made. Cheap. Noisy and effective for what it does. Just be careful reaching in your pocket at that quiet restaurant ...your kid could go off like a fire alarm.
