Aqua Garden welcome delight!! READ FIRST......
First of all, I'd like to start by saying that I purchased a Drinkwell Platinum bowl that came with the Aqua Garden clip. I had to purchase the Aqua Garden separately so I bought that and a 2 pk of seed refills. First things first. If you use the plastic clip that came with the fountain it should clip the garden FIRMLY in place... I have a LARGE not fat, housecat and he hasn't been able to budge it either intentionally or accidentally while "eating" the grass. Second, as soon as grass is tall enough, cats will start eating it. I'm at the stage where the grass looks like a lawnmower came and cut off all the tops at the same level... The other thing I'd like to mention to ANYONE buying this product. It's a PLANT... if you don't give it enough light, you'll have thin reedy yellowish plants. I have mine set up under a large table with a clip on lamp from walmart for $6.00 and bought a large PLANT BULB to produce the proper growing light. I put this above the bowl and in the morning, I turn on the light and turn it off at night. Let me tell you, a plant that get's enough of the right kind of light flourishes... my grass grows so fast that the cat has trouble keeping up with it.. and the grass is lusher, taller, VERY green.... So, if you're thinking of buying one of these, first check to see if your model supports the Aqua Garden, attach the garden as per all instructions, and install a plant light for the plants... you'll be happy you did.. oh, and by the way, the refill cartridges can be opened... any local seedhouse will carry BAGS of organic wheatgrass seed at a fraction of the cost you're paying here but you do need some empty cartridges... I've got the 1 that came with the garden, and bought a 2pk... now I have 3 cartridged I can fill myself and save some money!!!!!!

Keen idea
My cats really like young grass, and this seems like a swell way to provide it. IMHO, this system takes care of the biggest hassles of doing so. If one grows it in soil (or some solid medium), one must keep the cats from tearing it up, and once the grass is too old, one must either get all the old grass and roots out (lest it mold), or start with new media. Sprouting it hydroponically requires water changes daily, and again, something to keep the grass anchored. With this system, the fountain keeps the water circulating and fresh, and provides the weight to keep the garden anchored in place. I have this mounted on a Drinkwell Platinum. It seems to mount securely. (I have only had it in place for a few days. The seeds are sprouting, but are not yet up enough that the cats have had at them. I will update this once I know for sure that they don't pull it loose.) I imagine that, with a bit of ingenuity, it can be mounted to many fountains that it's not intended for. One can crack open the "seed pods" to replace the seeds, so one need not buy new seed pods every time. Sprouting seeds release nutrients into the water. Although some reviewers have complained that this "clouds" or pollutes the water, I contend that this pollution is actually those nutrients. If I find that I really do have to change the water more because of this, I will update my review.

Great idea - if they last
We got these cartridges along with our fountain and set the whole thing up at once. Very nice looking, very easy to attach and a very clever design overall. We didn't have the problem with the attachments coming off like some other reviewers, it seemed to clip on pretty firmly, but being made of plastic I can see how results may vary. The only problem I've noticed with these is that the cats seem to tear the grass apart before it has a chance to really grow. Because of this I would recommend allowing the grass to start growing in a water bowl or something out of kitties reach before attaching it to their water dish. There's no disputing the fact that our cats (well the closet vegetarian at least) love the grass, but it's just turned into a kind of shredded mess of green chunks all over the place rather than the nice growth that you see in the picture.I'll definitely keep getting them for the cats, it's helped save some of our other house plants fram the terrible jaws of our vegetarian cat. But I think some experimentation and a bit more care is necessary to get the desired results out of these things.

Product Fine, Cats Didn't Like It
I used this product with my Drinkwell Platinum fountain, with the adapter clip that came with the fountain. I had no problems keeping it clipped on the fountain. The seed pod securely fit into the basket. After only a few days, the grass began to grow. After about a week, we had very tall grass. However, the cats had no interest in it - in fact, I noticed them drinking less often. Since they didn't seem to like it, and I was afraid they would dehydrate since I guess it changed the taste of their water, I took it out and threw it away. After removing the grass and cleaning the fountain thoroughly, they started drinking from it much more. This product works as advertised, how it works out for your cat will just depend on what your cat likes.

Grows even if you don't know how or why. Good kitty grass. Timely delivery.
Well, I bought a Drinkwell at the pet store and it mentioned something about this cat-grass Aqua Garden, but I didn't see there. So I looked on Amazon, and yes, they have it. I was a little worried the garden wouldn't grow because sometimes I don't know how to take care of plants. But you kind of just snap it into the clip on the Drinkwell and it grows hydroponically without you having to do anything. It really grows good. And it's in a good place because it's right in front of the cat's face when he goes to get a drink. And no, it doesn't take up the whole space for drinking water. Just to clarify, this is for snapping into the clip that comes with the Drinkwell (clip included with Drinkwell, Drinkwell purchased separately.) I don't think it could really be used by itself, or at least not intended for. Also ships right away, no problems ordering. Probably will order some more refills soon.
