Impressed
I've been rocking a UAG case since I got the phone and I like it a lot and would highly recommend it. I like trying different cases, I've tried several and were disappointed (Spigen, Ghostek and a few others). The only thing I was concerned with the UAG was front drop protection. I use my phone in the gym for music and logging my workouts, I am often in rough gyms and don't want to worry about it.Defender - I am really impressed with the fit and feel. It feels well made and fits tight. I like that it is very grippy feeling (UAG is grippy on the slides but slick on the back). It is a little wider and taller than the UAG but not that much bulkier, not as much as I expected. I fully expected to hate the built in screen protector but I do not. The fit and feel are good, even the s pen works pretty well, there is a little more drag than using the naked screen but that is to be expected. Now over time I understand that dust and debri can get in there and under the screen protector, that will drive me nuts so if it happens too often I may take it out and either just go naked screen or put on a glass protector. Even with a naked screen the case has very good front protection and I am confident that if dropped face down there is enough of a raised lip to protect the screen. The buttons are still very tactile and the case works great with wireless charging, I have a few different chargers and it works on all of them. I even like the belt clip and if it was socially acceptable I'd use it everyday but alas it is not lol. However I can see myself using the belt clip as a kickstand to watch videos especially when I travel on planes. I like the port covers but I do wish they made one for the s pen, I feel like that is a big miss. Overall I really like this case if you are looking for max protection like me. If you are looking for a slim case this is not the case for you. There are some other cases out there that claim to be just as good like the Suppcase Unicorn Beetle Pro and the Artech21 but they do not feel as substantial.

Good for protecting phone but really annoying
I got this case because of a recommendation from my co-worker and father. The biggest thing that annoyed me was the screen. Not only did it come partially torn from the side of the case, but soon after use it began looking like it has a oily spot on it. It's hard to explain, but it's very common with otterboxs, I know a lot of people who have cut the screen out and added their own protective screen. The major problem I have with this case would be the corner they left completely exposed for the pen. Although it is unlikely because you would have to drop it just right, you could potentially shatter that corner. But the main problem with having the pen exposed is the fact that when you drop a note 5 either the pen comes out slightly or it goes flying. I can kind of understand that they left it exposed for getting to it quickly but it is very annoying having my pen go flying when I drop the phone. They should have covered it with a flap that pushes up like the audio or charging flap. At least when I drop my phone it doesn't break, though I added plexiglass to the screen.

Get the Best Defense you can.
I tried a different cell phone case for my Note 5, but decided to go back to the OtterBox Defender because of the protection it provides. It is so much easier to install than the older model OtterBox Defender I had for my Note 3. The built in screen protector does not fit securely against the screen of the Note 5. You can either remove it and get a better screen protector for less than $10.00 (like I did with my Note 3) or use them both together. I bought a tempered glass screen protector that fits on my Note 5, but am also using the OtterBox screen protector as a second level of defense since the other screen protectors do not cover the entire screen. Since the screen is tapered at the edges the glass screen protectors cannot go all the way to the edge. The FAQs are filled with questions about whether the screens loose touch sensitivity with the screen protectors. Although there is some diminution in the touch sensitivity, it is not all that noticeable with the double layer of screen protectors I have installed. The OtterBox case does make it a little more difficult to pull down the top menu until you get used to it.

Light weight but super touch. Probably the only downside is the belt ...
If you need heavy duty protection then this is the case for you. Light weight but super touch. Probably the only downside is the belt clip is a bit flimsy and I can see it breaking quickly.
