Works perfectly, unlike all the others!
This is an excellent, rock-solid, high-quality product. It's expensive, but unlike cheaper competitors, it actually works.I wanted to transmit an HDMI signal through 20 feet of CAT6 ethernet cable in the wall, to connect a home theater PC to a projector. Seems straightforward, right? Yet several other products all failed:(1) Monoprice HDMI-to-Ethernet wall plates. Only cost $20, but suffered from strange HDMI handshaking problems, so the devices would only connect about 25% of the time. Some days they worked if I restarted both devices, or unplugged and then reconnected the cables. Other days, nothing seemed to work, and I had to cancel movie night!(2) New Monoprice plates, now with 5V DC adapters on both ends, and new high-quality HDMI cables. Still failed.(3) J-Tech Digital HDMI Extender , which cost about $60 from Amazon. Wouldn't connect in 1080p mode, instead falling into an infinite loop of HDMI synchronization errors and scary noises coming from the projector. It did connect in inferior 1080i mode, but even then there were occasional image artifacts ("HDMI sparkles"). Also, after watching HDCP-protected content, like a Netflix movie, the screen would go blank and I'd have to reconnect everything to restore the image. I even tried a different Ethernet cable but the problems persisted. Fail. Finally, I purchased this Atlona product. It connected perfectly the first time without any synchronization errors, image artifacts, or HDCP errors, and has worked flawlessly ever since. Build quality is excellent. It does need to be powered at both ends, but power consumption is low (Atlona reports 0.58W when idle and 1.55W when in use). It even comes with a 10-year warranty, which is practically unheard of these days.I've come to the same conclusion as another reviewer: the HDMI standard seems to be quite sensitive and failure-prone, so when it comes to HDMI extenders, you get what you pay for. Thanks, Atlona -- you saved movie night!

Product failed
The product ia not working properly. I was not able to connect. Is it possible to return the product? how can I do that? The product did not work on the premises of my house. I could not make the product work at all. I called a technician who advised me to return the product because he also could not make the product work in his laboratory.

Best extenders on the market
If you want a high build quality, no nonsense plug it in and it just works HDMI extender, you want Atlona. I work for an IT company and we now buy only this brand due to the issues we've had with many others. Well worth the money.I bought this set for a personal project and they worked perfectly. No set up, plug it in and it works. Full 4k, no discernible latency. Make sure you use a high quality cat6-e cable with them, but you don't need anything crazy fancy here.

This kit works fine but sometimes when you turn on the tv the picture stays black for up to 10 seconds before appearing. Other than that can't see a noticeable difference vs just straight hdmi so that is good. My installed mentioned there are units that convey the hdmi over 2 (not just 1) cat cables and that these units work very well but areMore expensive. I might have looked into this had I knew. But overall satisfied.

Power supply failures across multiple Atlona products
Update 1: This was a 5 star review, until it broke. This is it for me and Atlona. 2 different models, both died after less than 2 years. They charge way too much to have lousy quality control.Update 2: It was their power supply this second time. One of the units had the power light blinking instead of solid green. So I swapped their power supplies and the fault followed the power. The faulty supply was giving only 2.0 volts instead of 5v. Their support site lists this as a known problem across multiple models, so they've obviously had enough failures to need to write about it. I cracked (literally) open the failed supply. The problem is a failed capacitor. Switch mode supplies are tough on capacitors and poor designs increase that demand. The capacitor itself is Chinese - these are known to be substandard. In the meantime I'm now using the AV Access 4KEX70-L instead of Atlona, and so far the pair been fine for 3 months.Changing from 1 to 2 stars because replacing a power supply is less of a problem than the unit failing itself.--old reviewThis set is replacing my failing ATLONA AT-HD4-SI40SR pair (about 2 years old) and the difference is night and day. These new HDBaseT products are far more forgiving than the previous non-HDBaseT models, and they're easier to set up too. Just plug them in and it simply works with perfect picture quality. No fuss or tweaking of settings. I only wish this had been available before because the previous generation boxes were very troublesome to get working with 3D and barely worked even at the best of times. Spend the extra to get HDBaseT units, it's worth it.

Solid and reliable
Works solidly and reliably with a 25' 4k run over Cat 6. Was literally plug and play. No issues with audio, HDMI-CEC, etc.Comes with nice brackets, and is obviously well engineered. This is definitely a step above your average aliexpress extender, and worth the cost difference for the peace of mind that it brings.
