same as "cafede" 14 grams, 2:15 of grinding, decent but compromised design
The best thing about buying this grinder is that I discovered the zen garden suite from plants vs. zombies while watching a tutorial of the grinder, labeled "cafede kona" on youtube, and I recommend you watch that for perspective.Good luck in your search for the perfect first grinder, or second grinder, or third grinder....I use it once or twice daily to make a mug of "moka pot" coffee, and will continue to use it only because it holds more than the grinder I previously bought, and I don't want to spend money again to (try to) get something better. These manual grinders are kind of expensive.Every couple days, if you aren't paying attention (half asleep with eyes barely open) or trying to grind quickly, 5 or 6 beans fly out, and you realize the loading gate has swung open again. So you will have to pick up the scattered beans from the floor and put them back in, and adjust your grip to keep the gate closed. Later, you get a screwdriver to tighten the screw and it works great until, a few days later, same thing.I timed myself at 2:15 to grind 14 grams. This will vary depending on how course or fine you are grinding the beans. Cast iron is a material, that is sometimes machined, but here it is really just cast, and not machined sharp, so the grinding isn't aggressive or fast. This unsharpened manufacture is evident in the product pictures. Still, I think $33 for warehouse deal was high, and $50 is overpriced.A manual grinder is great - work a little harder while you ponder your dependence on caffeine. It's loud enough that watching ABL at low volume will be difficult. But not too loud if you're up before the rest in your household. If the "motor" burns out.... you won't need the coffee anymore. All things considered, I think these manual grinders are overpriced.I have another, fandeexpress fumao cug, $17, well built with sharp stainless burrs, which I love, but only holds 10 grams. It has also gone up in price substantially.I also have turkish, 7" sozen, $23 warehouse, which is probably the best of the three, but I have it set up for turkish grind, and dialing in the courseness isn't super quick, so I rarely use it.Come to think of it, I may try adjusting that one for expresso grind, and sell this one....Good luck in your search for the perfect first grinder, or second grinder, or third grinder....

Great burr grinder for travel
This is a well constructed burr grinder greater for tossing in your suitcase. Just out of the box there was a smell of the stain/paint used on my version. But it dissipated after a day or so of being in open air. This does take some time to grind enough for cup of coffee but really only a few minutes for 20 grams of beans. The adjustment wheel does take some experimenting to find the size grind you want due to it being just a manual knob. But the consistency of the grind was great once I found the setting I liked. Recommended!

Nice quality
I chose this brand because it uses cast iron to grind. It is a very solid grinder. This is my first time using a handheld one. It takes practice since it is a bit hard to turn but it's ok and the consistency comes out great. Also I wanted one just incase I am traveling and if there's no electricity available.

It grinds & Rocks!
Love this cast iron internal jewel of a grinder incl. using it over my electric burr grinder. I use it @ home and on the road. Daily use since purchase and paired with home roasted coffee. Nice maybe exotic wood with a black outer finish. A bit of work to clean; standard barista type brush plus a smaller curved brush does the job though. I believe cast iron grinders are superior and there is nothing wrong with a little hand exercise!

Consistent
If you are into the ritual of making a cup of coffee then this manual grinder will do nicely. Since it is not electric it does require some elbow grease and some patience. Figuring out the best setting for the desired coarseness of your ground coffee requires several minutes of trial and error, but once you find it the results are consistent. The piece is also durable.

Paint on knob flaked
Upon opening the mill, the paint on the knob was flaking. Otherwise appears to be in good working condition.

Cast iron versus ceramic.
I took delivery of this grinder this am and put it to work straight away. The first task was to try to set it a fine grind. I got lucky with the first setting I chose and consequently got the type of grind I wanted for my stove top expresso pot. I have a ceramic grinder that is so slow I usually go off and do something else of interest half way through the grind to alleviate the tedium of using it. That is not the case with this one! It is a whole lot quicker and I actually feel as though I am getting somewhere when I use it. Just a few minutes to grind enough beans to fill my stove top pot - enough for several expresso cups. It is well made too with no plastic or glass to damage. The cast iron components have a bit of heft to them and I reckon they will last for a long time - there can not be much of a competition between cast iron and a few coffee beans. Anyway, it is well made, works well and I like it. Just the job for what I wanted and I much prefer it to a ceramic grinder.

Good quality and works well
Very well made and works well. Weighs about 500g, so a bit heavy for travel.
