AcneFree Acne Free Oil-Free Cleanser, Benzoyl Peroxide 2.5% with Glycolic Acid to Prevent and Treat Breakouts Unscented, 8 Fl Oz

After Curology discontinued their 2.5% benzoyl peroxide cleanser, I’ve had to try over 8 different brands to find a viable alternative. There simply aren’t enough options for benzoyl peroxide formulas, especially at 2.5% concentration. In what few options that do exist at 2.5% concentration, they usually have have several other active ingredients or artificial fragrance & sensitizing compounds. I have an autoimmune condition with a history of severe cystic acne. In my teens, I had to do multiple heavy rounds of accutane, plus some skin bleaching for the scarring. I can’t use concentrations over 2.5% due to my sensitive skin, but still require some benzoyl peroxide. This cleanser is gentle enough to not provoke my auto-immune condition, while effective enough to handle my cystic acne. Easily the highest quality formula around with my requirements. If it weren’t for this, I’d have to go back making my own from raw cosmetic ingredients.

Terrific product, recommended by my son's dermatologist. Be careful of overuse, it can cause skin to become overly dry. It is lightweight and a staple at our home.

This is our favorite face wash with benzoyl peroxide and glycolic acid. We've been using it for so many years. They stopped selling in stores, ao I am always happy when we can find it on Amazon. Recently it's been out of stock and I need it!!! Please Acne Free, keep making this formula!!! We always buy the 3 pack whenever we can. Keeps my skin acne free, even at my age with my hormonal acne flare ups.

I like this product because it dries acne out immediately. It's something you need to use routinely as the effects can be temporary. I would recommend it to anyone who can handle a strong cleanser and slight dryness of the skin as a side effect. It's worth it to me to have acne drying up quickly. I didn't care for the packaging as they taped it so tight (to prevent spillage) I could barely get the tape off! That's the only reason I gave it four stars due to the problematic tape. I will keep buying it as long as I have breakouts.

I have hormonal nodular acne and sensitive skin, this is the only acne wash that changed my skin. Please do not discontinue this product. I will buy it forever, I see it is unavailable. God willing it will be restocked soon so I can reorder. Phenomenal product. Works wonders on face and body.

For reference I’m female nearing 30 and my skin type is.. clogged. Is easily clogged a skin type? I don’t have thick ruddy skin, more like delicate but stubborn and easily clogged skin (comedonal acne not inflammatory acne). I pretty much can’t use any type of lotion, gel, oil, or moisturizer except maybe fresh aloe and everything else aggravates and clogs up my face. My pores clog easily from environmental factors as well as touching my face.. it is what it is. I use this face wash as a sort of contact therapy for acne and clogged pores.i wash my face once a day before bed so I only use this product (obviously) once a day. Sometimes I wash my face with a different face wash first and then use this one as a mask and leave it on 10 minutes and barely feel a tingle. Other times I put it on and it burns within seconds (in which case I rinse off quickly). Point is that this CAN and WILL compromise your moisture barrier and is prone to user error. BUT this has cleared up my face more than any other product that I have tried! It’s really quite shocking. What it WONT do (if your acne is like mine) is get rid of a clogged pore that is already formed and taking residence on your face. It may help it come to a head for extraction, and I’m totally fine with that.. but the true amazing thing is the PREVENTION that this face wash has provided. I still have clogged pores.. but not 100s more like 20. Huge difference. Bottom line: if you leave this on like a mask for several minutes or however long you decide, you will highly likely make a mistake and over dry your skin so be very, very careful. I’m sure it’s safer to just lather rinse but that’s not the way I do it and I wanted to share my experience. This face wash has really helped my skin and I’m happy with the results. UPDATE: Since I left such a detailed review I felt the need to update. I rarely use this face wash at this point because it was drying me out with daily use and dry skin=clogged pores for me. I WILL use it when I have the active/inflammatory acne popping up. Lately I have actually be attempting to heal my skin with honey. Yes honey, raw and COLD PRESSED (important) I spread it on my face use it like a mask and wash it off. It’s been a slow process, not a quick fix (I’m playing the long game) but I have been slowly seeing my skin get clearer and also leaves my face feeling moisturized. So basically I only use honey most days but I will occasionally use traditional face wash. It’s been working really good I’m actually quite impressed. Google “washing face with honey” and read some blogs if your interested and remember don’t use anything but the thick whiteish honey that comes in a jar (aka cold-pressed). This stuff was great for years but they had changed the recipe or put the wrong stuff in the bottle not sure which my skin is a mess right now. You can't get it anywhere including their own site so hoping they return to the original formula.
