The info given says: Product Dimensions: 19.5 x 40 x 28.5 inches ; 85 pounds. MINE measures 38.75 in length (not open) ; 19 3/16 wide; 28 3/4" high including the rollers. The hinged leaf that extends makes it 23 1/2" longer which is nice as far as I am concerned. Hope this helps. Perhaps others will tell you their dimensions.

Can I sit and sew on it

With the door closed there is little room for your legs. I open the door and sit on a chair to sew. I like the space the side table provides when the door is open and props it up. There are compartments on the inside of the door to hold handy items too once the door is open. And, there is a foot rest!

It looks like the color is more of an espresso than cherry. Is that accurate? Espresso would work better for me.

Is the table sewing machine height for the sewing machine to fit on top when opened for sewing. It's demitions are confusing

The top of the table is 28.5 inches above the floor. When the table is open as shown in the picture, there is plenty of room to sit on a chair with your legs under the table. The table top is 19.5 inches wide. The base of my sewing machine is 7 inches wide. There is more than enough room on the table for my sewing machine. This table is great. I love it. There is lots of room for everything and it is very sturdy. However, it does not come assembled and it takes time to put it together.
