I decided to give Just For Men Touch Of Grey, Light and Medium Brown a try even though I saw some negative reviews. To be honest, those few reviews sound more like people just being difficult — the kind of folks who love to go against everything just for the sake of it. For me, it worked really well. It toned down the gray, gave my beard a more even look, and — most importantly — it looks natural, not fake or artificial. I also had no irritation or issues at all. The best part? People actually told me I looked several years younger right after they saw me — and that alone made it worth it. It’s not magic or perfection, but if you use it correctly and with common sense, it definitely delivers. In my opinion, this is one of the best options out there for beard coloring.

This product does not work. Would not recommend especially for a permanent dye

As other have said it takes several coatings to get some decent color. Once I got used to that it was easy to go with the plan. I do know however, that 5 or 20 minutes is a waste for me. I usually apply it at night after I shower, making sure I have at least an hour before going to bed. By then, it is quite dry and go to sleep not worrying is going to satin my pillow. In the morning I shower again to take the excess off. It works better for me. Sometimes I choose the one for hair by mistake and it works the same. I do like that I don’t get allergic reactions to the ingredients, that’s a plus for me. Hint, make it a weekly routine, otherwise the color fades away and takes several applications to get it back.

If your a guy and have short-ish hair, do yourself a favor and just get the beard and mustache dye. It's a little thicker which makes it easier to apply. I have great results, been using for about 5 years. Tried other methods and brands but that's the best. This product here is thinner and it's easier to get tiny splatters on your sink or counter because it's a little thinner. Which first sounds fine, you got to clean up afterwards anyways. But this stuff leaves stains that are very hard to clean. The beard and mustache dye for example, when I get into the shower I just crouch lower to get less splatter anywhere and have no issues, but this stuff will stain the shower.

I have used Just For Men Touch of Gray Mustache & Beard for years. This year, 2026, the product changed and is no longer the product shown on this page. It uses a different coloring agent than in the past. It does not take away as much gray which is sort of OK but I wish the amount of gray was between the old and the new levels. However, it makes my beard a reddish brown and it becomes redder as the product fades which is the same amount of time as with the old product, about a week. Now my beard and hair are different colors! The new product does not look the same as the old product when in the little dish but that's no matter. What does matter is that at least 20% of the tube is AIR—they're selling you air. I have now seen this in about 4-5 tubes. Also, there are clumps of mysterious white gunk in the product. With the old product I could easily get four applications but with the new product I can get only two applications per tube. The boxes for the old and new products are exactly the same except (1) the new product is indicated to leave on for 10 minutes instead 5, (2) the copyright has changed from 2020 to 2024, and (3) the patent number has changed. Oddly, the patent relates to the applicator attachment found in their hair product but has no bearing on this beard product since it does not use the applicator but the same brush which is nearly impossible to get through my beard. All in all, this new product is a disappointment. It's odd that they didn't re-design the box to give the buyer a heads-up.

My beard looks so natural that when I told my barber that my beard was dyed, she asked what I use so she can share it with her customers. She was very impressed. She says she can always tell the men that dye there hair or beard. She said that mine looks so natural that she had no idea. I teach school. If the kids knew I dyed my hair and beard I would never hear the end of it lol.
