East Coast/West Coast and Beyond: Colin Campbell Cooper, American Impressionist

Necessary for any realist painter interested in natural light. Great as a gift to New York urbanites. Generous book that is not too large and certainly not a ton to carry about.

I bought this book for myself AND for my brother. We're both New Yorkers, and we both love art. My brother, who is actually a painter, was quite inspired by Colin Campbell Cooper's work.

Largely unknown, Cooper is a master.

The work has been a long time in coming. Colin Campbell Cooper was recognized as one of the great American Impressionists in his day. He was elected to the National Academy, his work won many awards and was welcome in any show or gallery. He painted the skyscrapers and important buildings in New York City, the beautiful landscapes of California and was a world traveler painting all over the world. In spite of this, he is overlooked today. This work will help to re-introduce Cooper to many who are not aware of his greatness.

This book exceeded expectations. A fine artist who apparently is not in the forefront of art in USA. Book arrived much sooner and in great condition for price. Lovely paintings of Old New York. Wish someone would do one on Charles Courtney Curran

I bought two copies of this book, one as a gift for my brother, and one for myself. Since I'm from New York,but live in Paris, I enjoyed learning more about the work of an American Impressionist.
