Spectracide Weed And Grass Killer Concentrate 16 Ounces, Use On Patios, Walkways And Driveways

I have used Spectracide Weed And Grass Killer Concentrate since they first came out with the product, many years ago. What I like about Spectracide , over the other brands, is how quickly it works. Spray it in the morning on a hot Summer day, and the grass and weeds are dead by evening. With some similar products, new vegetation is already growing back in, before the weeds that were sprayed are completely dead. Here in Florida, we fight unwanted vegetation all year. I apply many gallons of it annually, with a hand pump backpack sprayer. I will offer a few tips from my years of experience with this product: First, I never purchase the small, pre-mixed, ready to use, spray bottles. The mix ratio on the concentrate is such that the small premixed containers are primarily water. It is to easy to mix the concentrate with water yourself, to pay extra for pre-mix. Also, by mixing it yourself, you can increase the strength for hard-to-kill vegetation. Be sure to follow the instructions for when and how to apply this product. Mixing Ratio: Non selective herbicides like this are expensive. One does not want to waste product by over-mixing more than is actually needed. For average weeds and grasses, increasing the mix ratio will not make it work any better. It will only waste product and increase the cost. The normal mix ratio for this type of Spectracide is 5, ounces of concentrate, per 1 gallon of water. For anything other than brush and hard-to-kill vegetation, I have found that 4 ounces per gallon, works just as well. Mixing 4 ounces of concentrate, per gallon instead of 5, will allow a 40 ounce bottle of concentrate, to make 2 extra gallons of spray material. To further reduce cost, I recently switched back from Spectracide Extended Control, to this regular Spectracide Weed And Grass Killer Concentrate. At least here in Florida, I could not see a performance difference in the 2 products. Storage: I try to mix in amounts where I will use all of the liquid in my pump sprayer at that time. Once mixed, this product does not store well for extended periods. When left unused for a few months or over the winter, it tends to develop a pulp-like consistency that clogs up the pump sprayer. It can then become difficult to clean from all of the sprayer parts. Over all, it is a fantastic product. It saves hours of work pulling weeds.

We had some weeds sprouting up in our landscape stone cover here in Nevada. After trying another brand of weed killer and getting no results I tried this Spectracide product and got good results in a couple of days. The few weeds we had quickly turned brown and died, apparently right to the root. Thank you Spectracide, I'll be using you from now on.

Works really well if you shake it periodically. I thought it wasn’t working - then I saw the sticker under the cap to shake well! Need to put instruction on the container in bold print so old people will see it! Ha

The concentrate mixes easily, and one bottle goes a long way, which makes it a good value. I started noticing the weeds beginning to wilt after a few days, and within about a week they were noticeably dying off. It wasn't an instant overnight result, but with a little patience, it definitely worked. The key is to follow the instructions and apply it on a dry day when rain isn't expected right away. I also made sure to avoid spraying near plants I wanted to keep since this product doesn't discriminate between weeds and desirable plants. Overall, I'm happy with the results. It saved me a lot of time compared to pulling weeds by hand, and I would buy it again when I need to tackle stubborn weeds around the house.

I purchased " Ortho Ground Clear Poison Ivy and Tough Brush Killer $19.25" prior to purchasing "Spectracide Weed and Grass Killer Concentrate $33.15". I went for the bargain price and got what I paid for. Nothing. It did not kill any grass or weeds even when I tripled the mix stregth. "Spectracide Weed and Grass Killer Concentrate" showed signs of the weeds dying the nest day and on the second day the weed were dead. I would recommend this product and I will be using it in the future.

Will be buying again! Mixed it up into my pump sprayer in the afternoon sprayed everything i needed. By the next day everything was already turning brown and dying. No need to buy the over priced weed killer. I followed the exact mixing directions on the bottle for my 1 gallon sprayer.

I purchased 2 bottles (6/26) of this item and I’am extremely happy with results that I have ordered 6 more 40 oz. bottles again. This is the best grass/weed killer on the market it’s very fast acting with complete results = Highly Recommend If someone is giving negative feedbacks they must be doing something wrong only need 5 oz. Min. to 7oz. Max. per gallon water.
