SOULION R30 Computer Speakers for Desktop PC, Wired USB Powered 3.5mm Aux

The Soulion R30 soundbar speaker exceeded my expectations. Pros: 1. It has a real volume knob (switch potentiometer): It clicks to turn it on/off and maintains its volume setting. It does not make annoying beeping sounds for every increment you adjust it up or down. It just works! 2. Sound quality: For a little sound bar, it sounds rather good with plenty of volume. This little thing is loud for its size. 3. It outperforms any of the "USB-only" speakers that I've personally encountered. 4. Adequate cable length with a dedicated 3.5mm aux cable to plug into your device. A single Siamese-cable only splits at the end for the AUX and USB connection so cable management simple. 5. RGB LED Lights: These aren't something I was looking for, but it's a nice touch without being obnoxious or strobing. They cycle softly through the RBB spectrum and aren't distracting or harsh to the eye. They're mellow but still have that "cool" factor. 6. You can turn the LEDs off if you like. It utilizes a maintained push button on the back that clicks on/off so they'll stay that way the next time you power it up. I personally like the LEDs, so I leave them on. They aren't too bright or flashy, but just right in my opinion. 7. Slim Design takes up very little desk space and still provides proper sound for such a small bar. With one sound bar, there aren't additional wires stringing across your desk from one side to the other. 8. No gimmicky annoying voice announcing every time it's turned on or what mode it is in. It just works like a speaker is supposed to. If I boot up my computer while others are sleeping, It doesn't make an announcement through the whole house of what mode the speakers are in like so many USB-only speakers with useless gimmicks. Cons: 1. No room shaking thunderous bass. However, let's face reality, if you expect a lot of room shaking bass out of an inexpensive small speaker with 2" drivers and a passive sub, you'll be disappointed most of your life. Buy yourself a powered subwoofer and all of your dreams shall become reality. :) 2. If your device doesn't have a 3.5mm Aux plug, you're out of luck. This is a pro and a con depending on your requirements. It's a Pro for me. 3. If you want a lot of useless and annoying gimmicks such as robot voices announcing every mode, loud beeping noises for every click of the volume knob, or seizure-inducing strobe lights that flash to the beats of your music or game, you're out of luck. This speaker is for the intended use of being an affordable speaker with just the right amount of "adult cool". Nor Pro or Con: No Bluetooth: It's not advertised as having it, so there is that. I'm glad it doesn't! This is because without another mode, there's no need to "announce" what mode it's in or whether it's connected. It's also something I don't need. Most people already have dedicated wireless portable Bluetooth speakers. By leaving this unnecessary feature out, more resources can be put into making it a decent functional speaker with real buttons and switches. I'm perfectly satisfied with it the way it is. Bottom line: If you're looking for an affordable speaker option with good sound, pleasing to the eye, doesn't take up a lot of desk space, provides easy cable management, and works the way speakers should, this is a great option. I'd buy it again and recommend it to friends.

I'm not using these for gaming or high end audio. But for a simple speaker while I work they are great. Easy to connect. Music sounds good. They fit well under my dual monitor setup. Thankfully you can turn the light off. They look good. And reasonably priced. In two years I haven't had any issues. I've bought two of them.

nice size, easy to install (used the USB port on back of computer. Nice full sound. I like using the light feature so I know if it is off or on.

Pretty good speaker. For monitors and TVs make sure it connects with AUX. If you just want it for your pc, laptop, console: usb version works good too. Sounds great and price is good too. In these images my monitor is 27’’ so there’s a reference for how big the speaker is.

feb 7, 2024 review a day after 1st review: decided to give it another go. cleaned the audio end plug, inserted into audio out of computer, played a YouTube video, ensured volume outputs (in sound settings) either between left and right or right (doesnt work on left), rotated the audioend plug while plugged, feeling more of a contact and sitting where sound came out loud and clear. sound does come out. hallelujah. still, I feel i'll need to do this every so often. if there's a thing I could buy to have this sit more snug in an audio port, this could resolve the above steps. +++±±+++++ Feb 6, 2024 the speakers were great when it worked for almost 2 years. used it right away since April 2022 with my work laptop. RIP in january 2024. i suspect it's sensitive. couldn't handle corporate updates. tested the speakers on my personal imac. still no work. i hear it buzz, but the hardware's not producing audio. tested the imac and pc laptop audio out ports with other headphones, they work. so, these speakers seem to have a short shelf life. loved: 1. the colored lights 2. the volume dial control 3. the easy plug and play those things I loved with this speaker. disappointed: 1. in audio settings, speaker shows up as a generic usb device, instead of it's actual name. guessing game switching between output devices a thing. 2. speaker's drivers don't automatically update or show up. you need to scooby doo to figure out the mystery. 3. the speakers hardware seems to work (i hear buzzing sound), but the software/drivers or whatever isn't easily updatable or identifiable in settings. 4. stopped producing sound from my teams calls, online videos, or anything from an app.

The look is really nice (5/5 stars). Fits under the monitor perfectly (5/5). Real volume knob (5/5) on the side is perfect for a bar that is placed under a monitor. [I hate those soft button volume controls on other speaker bars; you are pressing the button 4-6 times every time you turn on the device.] And on this device the LED lights can be shut-off independently [from the sound], classy; nice touch (5/5). But I can't over look the sound quality (2/5). And the main function is sound, so that is a problem. At low volume this unit is useable for background music and web-meetings. But don't turn up the volume and expect to listen to music (or anything) from more than 2 feet away. These speakers do NOT 'fill-up' a room; just the space right in front of the speakers. And deep bass music is just 'no'. There is almost no bass range. Any bass below 250Hz is full of 'static'. (Standard rock & roll and metal base is 70Hz - 200Hz, heavy metal (deep base) is 40Hz - 120Hz. So these speakers will not do for those tones.) Soft, [most] pop, and [most] country will be listenable. And all these USB powered speakers really require a power brick of 2A (or more). Drawing the power directly from a powered hub or even worst from the computer is just to taxing on the power line drivers on a USB circuit. I am using an old 'phone' charger brick (2.0A) and it works fine. It sucked the life out of my desktop powered USB hub. I really suggest a AC power adapter; I am sure you have one laying around.

For the price, I'm surprised at the sound and looks of the speaker.

excellent rapport qualité/prix et c'est important de comprendre que pour 23 euros on en a pour son argent, c'est pas une baffle de boite de nuit non plus. mais si vous vivez en appartement c'est largement suffisant, car des 75% ( au pifomètre complet) de sa puissance , ça hurle déjà pas mal, a 100% c'est le coup de balais au plafond du voisin du dessous assuré. maintenant, si vous vivez en pavillon et que vous aimer profité du son a fond, cette enceinte seras un peut maigre pour l'écouter 3 pièces plus loin (de manière optimal pour un amoureux du son j'entend). ça c'est pour le volume sonore, maintenant la qualité du son ça dit quoi? c'est plutot bon, MAIS le son bave un peut, ça manque de netteté, loins d'être aussi net que mon casque gamer, c'est du 6,5/10 niveau qualité sonore, ça fonctionne bien pour des musique douce (Somewhere Over the Rainbow) même si il a un petit parasite sur les note de ukulélé , pour du rammstein, ich will rend plutôt bien l'enceinte est vraiment bonne (même si on retrouve ce manque de son propre mais ça gêne moins pour du metal), et pour de la techno ça passe plutôt bien, au global le son manque de netteté, mais c'est une netteté que vous aurez qu'a partir de 90 euros. donc on s'en sort vraiment bien ici. et pour des vidéo youtube (mon test a été avec la vidéo de aline dessine) le son passe très bien. en bref je recommande sauf si vous êtes un fan absolue du son propre, net, bien claire. mais pour les modldu ça passe, on s'en rend compte mais c'est largement acceptable.

A very decent soundbar for its size and price. Perfectly serviceable for a small tv - No complaints on its sound quality. As with any soundbar, the audio is much better than what comes out of the tv itself, especially if the speakers are rear firing (yuck!). It has a usb power plug that you can connect directly to the usb port on the tv - very convenient because it eliminates the need for a power outlet and another wire to the wall outlet. Only major complaint, this is such a off-brand audio product that my Crave remote does not recognize it in order to sync up with the volume control.

Acquistato 2 anni fa, si è comportata sempre bene, complessivamente un buon audio e la possibilità di poter spegnere i led è un motivo in più del perché l'ho acquistato. Purtroppo una settimana fa all'improvviso ha smesso di riprodurre l'audio, contattato il servizio clienti e tempo una settimana ho avuto il prodotto nuovo.
