Great for brand new beginners/kids
Great for brand new beginners who want to start with the very basics. This one is kid friendly. It's very PG and great for kids who want to learn how to draw anime. I didn't want to get anything with huge shiny knockers/skimpy clothes. Thats cool if that's what you want, but its not my preference for my little one. If you are already have experience drawing this one might be too easy for you. Very simple and easy to follow. Note: it only focused on faces.

Reasonable Price Intro book
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. I think this will be a good intro book for my preteen child. I was not happy about 13 blank pages in the back to practice drawing. I feel abit cheated by the blank pages after all I am not paying for a sketch pad. Overall I think it is reasonable for the price.

High quality and easy to follow!
We have purchased all of the books in the "How To Draw" series. This is a great addition! We have four kids, ranging in age from 6 to 13 years old. They all really love learning to draw from these books. They are high quality and the instructions are easy to understand. We are excited to buy more, as they are available!

Amazing purchase.
I bought this for my daughter who has been saying that everyone in her class can draw anime. I decided to give this a whirl after looking around. My daughter is super excited and has already tore into the book. I will definitely spread the word.

Best drawing instruction I bought yet.
Perfect beginners book... for people that cannot draw like me. I do not like that about 25 percent is blank "you can practice here" pages... but the rest had the basics I found ..mostly covering eyes and face. Recommended for beginers .

Half of the pages are blank, provided for drawing practice
This is more like a pamphlet or a brochure on how to draw anime faces, not a full book. It’s a cruel joke to charge what they do for something that more than half the pages are BLANK and provided for drawing practice. This is a HUGE disappointment and let down and was to be a focal point for a gift for a young artist.

Disappointed, Overpriced, Returned
I returned this book as I thought it overpriced and bought Mastering Manga by Mark Crilley for around the same price. If this How To Draw Anime had been half the price I may have kept it, particularly as almost half the book (last third) is blank pages to practice on.That just felt like an attempt to pad the book out. If I need a sketch pad I will buy one.The font is also very large, much larger than it needs to be, larger than most kids reading books in fact. Again this felt like an attempt to pad the book out. Then there are pages of the same repetitive heads kids are to complete. If you were to strip out the blank pages, repetitive exercise sheets and print it in a normal sized font the actual content would make a handy little pocket guide worth maybe £5.If your after more actual content with more than just heads / faces covered Mastering Manga is a better buy imo.

Not great value for the money
I bought this as a gift for someone who loves drawing and particularly anime so thought it would be ideal...but I was a little underwhelmed. It doesn’t appear to have much substance to it. I hadn’t really noticed that it only focuses on faces, my error admittedly but I do think it is overpriced for what it is. The writing is very large and the book feels like a cheap colouring book. Not such a great purchase.

Nice
Easy to follow. Shows step by step. My 10 year old cousin is able to draw characters independently and follow instructions easily.

Great introduction to drawing anime.
Bought this book for my 10 year old daughter and she loves it. She was great at drawing anime characters, but this book has helped her with the essentials.
