I have always preferred the simplicity and reliability of mechanical scales. No need to faff about with 2032 cells every so often, no pseudoscientific pretense of body fat percentage analysis, no attempt to read your horoscopes. Simple and unpretentious, old-school, large dial, easy to read. The major irritation for me being that most scales like this in the UK have dual imperial/metric scales (needlessly cluttered if you're only going to weigh yourself in kilograms), with the imperial on the outer (bigger) ring -- making the metric more awkward to read. So in short, if you weigh yourself in kilograms, this is probably what you want.

Very poor quality scales attempting to look like a high quality doctors surgery scale and failing miserably. Arrived with dial stuck on 20kg, adjustment wheel at front very stiff and jerky, with some effort able to move dial to near zero. All dial readings 20kg out. Utter rubbish, poorly made scales, no more than a toy. Avoid and don't waste your money.

I just received this with great anticipation that I would at last get accurate scales, unlike the erratic electronic ones. After zeroing the dial, I was shocked to find that it showed me 3.0 kilos more than my previous weight. This was double checked by another 2 people, with similar results, who had previously weighed themselves like me on electronic scales. However, I double checked it with dumbbells and it was 100% accurate. Everyone was very surprised.
